Job summary

NILightpath in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced firmware development engineer for next-generation optical line system products such as ROADM, EDFA, and Raman. You will design, implement, and test firmware in a multithreaded RTOS environment, collaborating with hardware, FPGA, and software teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience in a multithreaded real-time environment.

We are looking for experienced firmware development engineer in Optical Domain. In this role, you’ll join a dynamic firmware team dedicated to enhancing Nokia’s next-generation Optical line system products like ROADM, EDFA, Raman etc., for long-haul and metro applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll design and implement innovative solutions that tackle complex problems in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing transport products. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the efficiency and reliability of cutting-edge optical technologies. Qualifications

• Candidate must be a quick-learner and self-starter, energetic, flexible and positive
• Hands-on experience in developing firmware, participating in requirement gathering, design and test plan reviews
• Hands-on experience in using test equipment such as traffic generators, JTAG debuggers
• Proficiency in Linux and C/C++ in embedded systems including micro controller-based systems.
• Experience with device driver development for Linux or Real-Time Operating Systems
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces and protocols (I²C, SPI, Ethernet, PCIe)
• Hands-on experience in hardware bring-up and Uboot bootloader
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical
• Familiarity with Docker, JIRA, bit-bucket, and confluence is beneficial.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience in working collaboratively with a geographically separated team
• Familiarity with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, etc.)
• Basic understanding of electronics schematics and hardware design
