  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design of pressure or high-temperature equipment such as reactors, furnaces, heat exchangers, pressure vessels or process skids.
  • Hands-on experience with pressure-part design calculations to ASME Section VIII / B31.3 or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of FEA (ANSYS or equivalent) for thermal and structural analysis.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD, GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
  • Understanding of welding, NDT and inspection practices for fabricated equipment.
  • Experience taking at least one design through fabrication and testing.
  • Exposure to high-temperature alloys, creep, high-pressure gas systems or compression fittings and tubing is a plus.
  • Willingness to take ownership and work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the detailed mechanical design of reactor assemblies for high-pressure, high-temperature service.
  • Prepare design calculations for pressure, thermal expansion and wall thickness; run thermal/structural FEA on nickel-alloy components.
  • Develop 3D models, fabrication drawings, GA drawings and BOMs; verify against ASME requirements.
  • Design solutions for thermal expansion (expansion loops, bellows, sliding supports).
  • Review drawings and calculations by associates and mentor them.
  • Present designs at design reviews and incorporate feedback before release.
