Job summary

Nagarro is seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist in Bengaluru to drive metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog initiatives. You will collaborate with global teams to implement governance standards and ensure data quality across complex data assets.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data governance with hands-onCollibra/IKC experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with Agile methods. This role offers growth in a dynamic, global product engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Hands-on with Collibra, IKC or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, data quality, and governance standards.
• Experience with SQL and querying large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage activities across the organization.
• Maintain business glossary, metadata, and data catalog information using Collibra/IKC or similar tools.
• Perform data mapping, lifecycle management, and impact analysis.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
• Support data modelling and alignment with governance standards.
• Define and maintain business glossary terms, metadata, and data assets.
• Undertake data profiling and quality management activities to address issues.
• Identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and support regulatory requirements.
• Work with global teams using Agile methodologies.
• Query large data sets using SQL as required.
• Collaborate with multicultural teams on governance initiatives.
• Support data governance improvements and data catalog processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Total experience 5.5+ years
• Strong experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management & Data Lineage
• Hands-on experience with Collibra, Informatica Knowledge Catalog (IKC) or similar metadata/cataloguing tools
• Strong experience in Business Glossary, Metadata & Data Catalog Management
• Experience in Data Mapping, Data Lifecycle Management & Impact Analysis
• Strong Stakeholder Management, Workshop Facilitation & Requirements Gathering skills
• Strong understanding of Data Modelling concepts and Data Governance standards
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying large, complex datasets
• Experience with Data Profiling and Data Quality Management

• Perform data mapping, data lifecycle management, and impact analysis activities.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops and requirements-gathering sessions to understand business and data requirements.
• Support data modelling activities and ensure alignment with Data Governance standards.
• Work with stakeholders to define and maintain business glossary terms, metadata, data assets, and data relationships.
• Support data profiling and data quality management activities to identify and address data quality issues.
• Define and maintain Data Quality Rules and support data governance initiatives.
• Identify and manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and support Regulatory Compliance requirements.
• Use SQL to query and analyze large, complex datasets as required.
• Collaborate with multi-cultural/global teams to support data governance and metadata management initiatives.
• Work using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodology to deliver governance and data management activities.
• Perform data impact analysis and support identification of upstream and downstream data dependencies.
• Support continuous improvement of Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Catalog processes.
