Priceline.com LLC in Mumbai is seeking a Staff Data Architect to anchor data ecosystems driving acquisition, retention and engagement. You will design scalable architectures for real-time personalization and analytics, collaborating with product and engineering teams.

You will lead architecture reviews, define governance, security, and CI/CD practices, and mentor senior engineers while exploring emerging paradigms such as Data Mesh and real‑time feature stores to empower the Customer Growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing distributed data processing systems.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling (Data Vault, Kimball, Star Schema).
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable data architectures for real-time personalization and analytics.
• Evaluate technologies and present trade-off analyses for data challenges.
• Define and evangelize data governance, security, and CI/CD automation practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data infrastructure with product roadmaps.
• Research and prototype emerging technologies like Data Mesh and real-time feature stores.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code and architecture reviews.

About the Role

Staff Data Architect for Customer Growth, the technical beacon and architectural anchor for data ecosystems driving acquisition, retention and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve robust, scalable, and highly reliable data architectures and framework‑level designs that support real‑time personalization, marketing automation, and advanced customer analytics.
• Act as the ultimate sounding board for complex data challenges, evaluating competing technologies and presenting clear trade‑off analyses.
• Define, document, and evangelize global engineering best practices, data governance frameworks, security standards, and CI/CD automation patterns.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams within the Customer Growth domain to align data infrastructure with product roadmaps and business goals.
• Research, prototype, and introduce emerging technologies and innovative paradigms such as Data Mesh, advanced identity resolution, or real‑time feature stores.
• Guide, unblock, and elevate senior and mid‑level engineers through rigorous code/architecture reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing and implementing distributed data processing systems utilizing tools like Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka, or Delta Lake/Iceberg.
• Deep expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud‑native data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Proven track record of building reusable data libraries, custom tooling, or internal platforms that accelerated development for other engineering teams.
• Expert‑level knowledge of data modeling paradigms (Data Vault, Kimball, Star Schema) tailored for complex customer journeys and behavioral data.
• Highly proficient in Python, Scala, or Java, alongside expert‑level SQL.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
