Job summary

Tata Technologies in Pune invites a SrDesign Engineer/Technical Lead specializing in Body-in-White (BIW) to join the team. You will lead BIW component design, drive technical decisions, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust engineering solutions.

You will oversee design activities for Upper/Under Body, Structures, and Closures using Catia, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure regulatory and quality standards are met throughout product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Automotive engineering or related field.
• 3-10 years of BIW design and development experience in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in BIW design: Upper Body, Under Body, Structures, and Closures.
• Expert-level Catia V5/V6 for solid modeling, surfacing and assembly design.
• Strong understanding of stamping, welding, and assembly processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and guide design teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of GDT principles and their application in automotive design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain design documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical specifications, in accordance with industry standards.

Skills and Qualifications
