Job summary

Birlasoft in INDIA, HYDERABAD, is seeking a Sr Technical Lead for App Development to drive monitoring, incident management, and reliability across middleware-based applications in a cloud environment. The role focuses on SRE practices, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams.

You will apply expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, WebLogic/Tomcat, load balancing, and monitoring tools (NewRelic, Splunk) while guiding root-cause analysis and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in monitoring, performance, and capacity planning of middleware/services.
• Proficient in incident management, root-cause analysis and postmortems.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python or PowerShell; familiar with Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Monitor PCF/middleware performance, capacity and availability with minimal downtime.
• Analyze and resolve production issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Define and enforce SRE standards: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and postmortems.
• Participate in incidents, problems, and change management using ServiceNow.
• Lead root-cause analysis and reduce MTTR/MTTA/MTTD.
• Configure and troubleshoot load balancers and web servers (Apache, Nginx).
• Manage containerized apps with Kubernetes/Docker; use AWS/Azure cloud hosting.

Title: Sr Technical Lead-App Development

Description:

Area(s) of responsibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor PCF/ middleware services performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Analyze and resolve production issues in a timely manner, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Define and enforce SRE standards: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and postmortems
• Participate in incidents, problems, and change management activities using ServiceNow.
• Lead the root-cause analysis for incidents and reduce MTTR, MTTA and MTTD
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Setting up a high availability environment using external hardware F5/AVI load balancer, Apache httpd, Nginx web server, networking and troubleshoot pcf/middleware technologies (WebLogic, Tomcat, etc.).
• Configure NewRelic/Splunk to get timely alerts and monitor to ensure availability of services.
• Good knowledge of Traffic Balancing, Routing and debugging analysis.
• Good Knowledge on Kubernetes/EKS, Kubernetes and docker.
• Good Knowledge on monitoring tools (Splunk, Newrelic).
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Support security compliance, patching, and upgrades for middleware components.
• Design, build, implementation and manage/Support of applications hosting environment in Cloud platforms such as AWS infrastructure, Azure.
• Manage source code repositories using Git and GitHub.
