Job summary

NewSpace Research and Technologies in Bengaluru and Delhi NCR seeks a CAD Engineer to create and modify 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks, and to prepare EBOMs and component documentation for production.

The role requires proficiency in part and assembly modeling, drafting per ASME Y14.5, and strong communication to work with cross‑functional teams on unmanned vehicle projects.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks-based 3D modeling and drafting; parts and assemblies.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards and GD&T.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication to coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify 3D models in SolidWorks per standards.

Job description

W e are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Create / Modify 3D model Component in Solid works as per the standard document.
• Create / Modify the EBOMs and documents as per the requirements.
• Create / Modify Component level manufacturing drawings as per the requirements.
• Create / Modify Assembly drawings / exploded views as per the requirements.
• Interact with the Manufacturing team sharing inputs/feedback for cross functional support.

Must have skills:

• Solid Works
• Part Modelling, Assembly Design and Drafting.
• Design and detailing in Solid Works for part, assembly & installation drawings
• Drawing Reading and Interpretation
• Experience in using ASMEY 14.5 drafting standards, Basic Knowledge of GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of Manufacturing Process
• Should have good communication skills (spoken, tele-con, written communication skills necessary to work effectively with cross-functional team members)
• Problem solving and analytical skills

Good to have skills:

• Knowledge of Design and Assembly of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
