Job summary

NewSpace Research and Technologies Bengaluru is hiring a CAD Design Engineer to create and modify 3D CATIA/SolidWorks models and assembly drawings for aerospace components. You will develop EBOMs, exploded views, and ensure designs meet DFM/DFA standards while coordinating with sub-systems on technical requirements.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and experience in CAD modeling with ENOVIA/Teamcenter PLM environments. BE/ME in mechanical/aerospace is preferred.

Qualifications

• CAD design and detailing with CATIA for part, assembly and installation drawings.
• DFM/DFA principles applied to aerospace components and sub-systems.
• Experience with ASME drafting standards and GD&T symbols.
• Advanced CAD modeling techniques and PDM/PLM familiarity.
• Version control and engineering change processes (ECR/DAR).

Responsibilities

• Create/modify 3D models and assembly drawings in CATIA/SolidWorks per standards.
• Prepare/modify EBOMs and related documentation.
• Generate exploded views and detailed assembly drawings.
• Independently handle CAD design for composites and sheet metal in aerospace.
• Understand engineering BOMs and correlate assembly indicators with operation sequences.
• Collaborate with sub-systems stakeholders to define technical requirements and acceptance methods.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (verbal and written).

Job description

W e are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Create / Modify 3D model Component's in CATIA/Solid works as per the standard document.
• Create / Modify the EBOMs and documents as per the requirements
• Create / Modify Assembly drawings / exploded views as per the requirements
• Should independently handle CAD design with minimal supervision , Composites & sheet metal assemblies and related subsystem in Aerospace Domain.
• Should understand Engineering BOM and correlate the various assembly indicators as per operation sequence of components.
• Should be able to communicate with sub-systems’ stakeholders on the technical requirements, be able to discuss, participate and negotiate in finalizing technical requirements and acceptance methodologies.
• Should have good communication skills (spoken, tele-con, written communication skills necessary to work effectively with cross-functional team members)

Must have skills:

• Catia/ V5/V6/3D EXP/Solid Works
• Work Benches: Part Design, Assembly Design, CPD, Sheet Metal, Drafting.
• Design and detailing in CATIA for part, assembly & installation drawings
• with sound knowledge on DFM, DFA.
• Experience in using ASME drafting standards, GD&T symbols.
• Advanced CAD Modeling Techniques and Proficient in using the Tools
• Stack-up Analysis, Clash/Clearance Checks
• Understanding about PDM, PLM and Process Management
• Basic Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M/ ISO Standards

Good to have skills:
