Job summary

NewSpace Research and Technologies, a Bengaluru-based startup, seeks an Aerospace/Mechanical/Robotics engineer to design and optimize UAV hardware for autonomous robots and swarms. You will work on multicopter/fixed-wing platforms, perform aerodynamics, flight dynamics calculations, and integrate RF comms, GCS, and rapid prototyping.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in autonomous robots / UAV hardware design.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics and flight dynamics.
• Experience with CATIA/Fusion 360 and 3D printing for rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop UAV hardware components for multicopter/Fixed Wing systems.
• Perform aerodynamics, payload, and flight dynamics calculations.
• Use Fusion 360 to create refined UAV designs and perform 3D modeling.
• Conduct simulations to validate designs and performance.
• Pilot UAVs for testing, evaluation, and data collection.
• Collaborate to integrate RF communication systems into UAV designs.
• Configure and monitor UAV operations using Ground Control Station (GCS) software.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulations.

Job description

W e are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop UAV hardware components, with a primary focus on multicopter/Fixed Wings systems.
• Perform mathematical calculations to optimize UAV performance, including aerodynamics, payload, and flight dynamics.
• Utilize 3D design tools, particularly Fusion 360, to create and refine UAV designs.
• Conduct simulations using industry-standard software to validate designs and performance.
• Pilot UAVs for testing, evaluation, and data collection to support development efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF communication systems into UAV designs.
• Leverage familiarity with Ground Control Station (GCS) software to configure and monitor UAV operations.
• Utilize 3D printing technologies for rapid prototyping and component fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

● Aerospace Engineer /Mechanical Engineer /Robotics hardware engineer/ Mechatronics engineer with 2-3 years of experience in autonomous robots / UAV hardware design.
