Job summary

Gigamon is seeking a seasoned quality assurance engineer to validate its network visibility fabric product. You will thrive in a cross-functional team and contribute towards test and automation efforts to achieve project quality goals.

You’ll design and automate functional, usability, performance, scaling and stress testing, delivering automation and improving coverage. Strong background in virtualization, networking and Python scripting is required, with excellent communication and a passion

Qualifications

• BS in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on quality, development and/or automation experience in virtualization and networking.
• Extensive test automation and scripting skills (Python or some scripting language).
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Robot, Python) and tools (Cypress).
• Experience testing UI/UX performance and usability.
• Experience in various aspects of systems test and QA processes.
• Experience in testing scalable, fault-tolerant systems including software upgrades, distributed control and redundancy.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, L2/L3, IPv4/IPv6, NAT, DNS; REST, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL testing.
• Experience validating deliverables in Enterprise, Datacenter, Public or Private cloud environments (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, AWS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; passion for quality.

What you’ll do:

• Provide technical expertise for the system design, operation, usability, and testability of our products with special focus on visibility fabric products.
• Work closely with the functional test teams in developing and improving overall testing approach and strategy
• Work with team for system testing strategy with focus on automation including but not limited to customer use case centric as well as scalability and performance testing
• Design, develop and completely automating Functional, Usability, Performance, Scaling and Stress Testing suites.
• Deliver test automation code and help in driving improvements to our automation coverage.
• Identifying, leveraging, and successfully evangelizing opportunities to improve engineering productivity.

What you’ve done:

• BS in CS or related field

• Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, NAT, DNS)
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP layer, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL protocols, REST services and hands on experience on testing them.
• Experience in validating deliverables in Enterprise, Datacenter, Public or Private cloud environments (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, AWS)
• Hands on experience in creating test beds for customer use case centric as well as scalability and performance testing
• Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
