Job summary

Alkira, Inc. in Bengaluru, India seeks a Software Engineer - QA & Automation to join our growing team. You will contribute to our in-house automated test framework built with Python, Terraform, and Jenkins, ensuring quality across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

You will develop and execute automated test plans, design automation frameworks, and work with cross-functional teams to validate product capabilities and maintain high regression standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in QA and automation in highly technical roles.
• Very strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with networking product testing and understanding architecture in networking products.
• Hands-on experience with TCP/IP protocols (ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP & UDP).
• Knowledge of cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with firewalls or SD-WAN.

About The Team

The QA & Automation team is the quality gate for every product release. It owns our in-house automated test framework - a Python, Terraform, and Jenkins-based system that runs large-scale regression suites continuously across all major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI). Beyond release validation, the team builds scaling and performance tests that prove the platform keeps up with customer and traffic growth, and develops Terraform-driven deployment automation that makes large customer onboardings fast and repeatable. The team works across multiple geographies, so you'll collaborate with engineers in different time zones.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product development and engineering teams to understand testing requirements
• Develop, execute and automate feature test plans to validate product capabilities
• Design and develop automation framework
• Build and maintain automation scripts required to ensure quality via continuous functional regression
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, report, and resolve issues found during testing
• Analyze any customer-found defects, identify the test gaps and ensure they are covered in regression.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in highly technical roles in QA and automation
• Very strong Python programming skills
• Experience with networking product testing and good understanding of management, control and data plane architecture in networking products
• Hand on experience with standard TCP/IP protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP & UDP
• Good knowledge and experience in networking protocols like BGP, VxLAN, IPSec, L3
• Experience and good domain knowledge with cloud-based deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP experience preferred).
