Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to lead data modeling and analytics initiatives from its Hyderabad, APAC Home Office. You will design, implement, and optimize enterprise data models supporting analytics, reporting, and governance for a $50B+ retail ecosystem.

You will collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data structures, ensuring data quality and governance across the global stores landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain.
• 14+ years of strong experience in data modelling and database design.
• Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, and data warehouse modeling techniques.
• Experience with SQL and database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, SAP PowerDesigner, or similar.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration concepts.
• Leads discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic and complex business problems.
• Identifies emerging technologies for consideration for new technology direction and implements proof of concepts to prove the new technology.
• Maintains broad knowledge in the business applications / services that comprise a given technical domain.
• Provides technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business applications in a given technical domain.
• Acts in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues.
• Design, code, test, deploy & support working software /technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers.
• Strong communication and influence skills. Solid team leadership with mentorship skills
• Shows a positive, open-minded and can-do attitude
• 14+ years’ experience in any combination of the following technologies:

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.

The Global Stores Solution Delivery organization within TJX IT is responsible for delivering technology solutions to drive growth, enable efficiency, and improve customer experience at the front-line in our stores.

What you’ll need

We are seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to lead data and analytics strategy for Global Stores, enabling data-driven decisions at scale across a $50B+ retail ecosystem.

The Data Modeler is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data models that support analytics, reporting, operational systems, and data governance initiatives.
