Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Engineer – Data Engineer to design and deliver enterprise data analytics solutions across global stores.

You will work with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and BI tools to translate business needs into scalable data pipelines and models. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy Data Analytics solutions using Snowflake, Data Bricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain data models for analytics and reporting.
• Integrate data from multiple sources into centralized data warehouses or lakes.
• Collaborate with product teams, architects, and data scientists to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Guide junior engineers and provide best practice recommendations.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to data engineering standards.
• Stay updated with latest data analytics and cloud tech; commit to continuous learning.

Our Organization

The Global Stores and Supply Chain Solution Delivery organization is responsible for delivering technology solutions to drive growth, enable efficiency, and improve customer experience at the front-line in our stores and managing various supply chain related solutions within TJX IT.

What you’ll do

We seek a motivated, talentedSenior Engineerwith good understanding of cloud architecture, data warehousing, data modeling concepts to help design enterprise data engineering and reporting solutions across global stores organization.

You will be working with product teams,architecture and business partnersto strategically plan and deliver the product features by connecting the technical and business worlds. You will need to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development while keeping product quality and security as the priority.You will be responsible for most design and technical decisions within assigned scope.

AI & Innovation

• Drive adoption of Gen AI and Agentic AI to enhance analytics, automation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy Data Analytics solutionsusing Snowflake, Data Bricks, and Azure Data Factory services to meet business requirements
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain data models for analytics and reporting
• Integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, cloud platforms) into centralized data warehouses or lakes.
• Work closely with product teams, architects, and data scientists to deliver data solutions and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to Data engineering standards.
• Stay updated with the latest advancementsin Data analytics and cloud technologies, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Develop solid understanding of the end-to-end business application processes.
• Recommend enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain
• 5+ years of strong development experiencewith medium to large data warehouse solutions while working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) environment.
• Strong background in data warehousing, data modeling, and API integrations
• Hands-on experience in leading and delivering medium to large scale projects end to end whilst maintaining good understanding of Coding standards, Performance tuning and database concepts.
• Demonstrated leadership in the fields of data warehousing, database, or data science.
• Strong communication and influence skills. Solid team player with mentorship skills.
• Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals.
• Shows a positive, open-minded, and can-do attitude.
• Strong automation and engineering mindset.
• Data Governance, Data Profiling, DevSecOps practices, production deployments, and test planning.

Experience in the following technologies

• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, and Power BI for building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL and PL/SQL for complex query development, performance tuning, and data manipulation.
• Experience working with distributed architectures, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms including any one of them like Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Working knowledge of GitHub or similar source control systems for collaborative development and code management.
• Proficient in Shell Scripting for automation of system tasks and data workflows.
• Experience working in both RHEL (Linux) and Windows environments for deployment and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys, Azure Scheduler, or equivalent) for managing batch jobs and workflow automation.

Nice To Have

• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Service NOW.
