Job summary

Coupa Software, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to collaborate with Product and Design teams to build new features and scale the platform. You will work in an agile environment and leverage AI-assisted development tools to drive productivity.

The role requires 5+ years in Ruby on Rails or Java, strong OO design, REST APIs, and experience with React.js and MySQL. A BS in CS or related field is expected. Coupa offers an inclusive workplace with global impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development in Ruby on Rails or Java.
• Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills.
• Experience building REST APIs and micro-services.
• Solid understanding of commonly used design patterns.
• Experience with React.js and CSS.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, including performance optimization.
• Experience with mentoring and AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code).
• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.

What You Will Bring to Coupa

• Minimum 5+ years of software development experience in Ruby on Rails or Java.
• Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills.
• Experience building REST APIs and micro-services.
• Solid understanding of commonly used design patterns.
• Experience working with React.js (or a similar JavaScript framework) and CSS.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, including a good understanding of performance and optimization.
• Experience with technical mentoring.
• Hands‑on experience with AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code.
• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
