ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Software Engineer – React.js / Next.js, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high-quality web applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, backend engineers, and other cross-functional teams to build modern, responsive, and reliable digital experiences.

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable web applications using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs.
• Build responsive, accessible, reusable, and high-performance UI components using React.js, Next.js, and modern front-end development practices.
• Develop and maintain front-end applications that integrate with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, third-party systems, and enterprise platforms.
• Work extensively with Next.js concepts including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), routing, API integration, and front-end performance optimization.
• Implement state management and data-fetching solutions using technologies such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, React Query/TanStack Query, or SWR.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define API contracts, integration patterns, error handling, and data flows.
• Develop clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code following modern front-end architecture and engineering best practices.
• Ensure applications meet standards for performance, scalability, accessibility, usability, and security.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Work with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD, cloud deployments, monitoring, release management, and production support.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions and contribute to decisions related to front-end architecture and application scalability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with emerging React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern web development technologies and practices.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, with significant experience building enterprise-level web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js and modern React development practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js and modern application development patterns.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, and modern browser technologies.
• Hands-on experience developing reusable and scalable React components and front-end architectures.
• Strong understanding of Next.js concepts including SSR, SSG, routing, API integration, rendering strategies, and performance optimization.
• Experience with React state management and data-fetching libraries such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, React Query/TanStack Query, or SWR.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
• Strong understanding of REST API integration, asynchronous programming, error handling, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks, styling systems, or component libraries such as Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Chakra UI, Styled Components, Emotion, Shadcn/UI, or Radix UI.
• Experience with modern front-end build tools and package managers such as Vite, Webpack, Babel, npm, Yarn, or pnpm.
• Experience with Git and source control, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
• Hands-on experience with front-end testing and automation frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Understanding of web application security, including authentication/authorization patterns, OAuth2, JWT, secure coding practices, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized application environments.
• Knowledge of application monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience supporting applications in production environments, including incident troubleshooting and resolution.
• Hands-on experience with incident management processes and tools such as ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Healthcare domain experience, including familiarity with healthcare workflows, terminology, HIPAA, PHI, or healthcare applications.
• Experience with other modern front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Angular, Svelte, SvelteKit, Remix, or Gatsby.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Experience with micro-frontends or large-scale front-end architectures.
• Experience with GraphQL, API Gateways, gRPC, or event-driven integrations.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
• Understanding of distributed systems, caching strategies, scalability, performance optimization, and web application architecture.
• Experience with web performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, code splitting, lazy loading, caching, and bundle optimization.
• Experience with accessibility standards, including WCAG and accessible UI development.
• Experience working with message-driven architectures such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or AWS SNS.
• Experience with technical architecture and design decisions for enterprise applications.
• Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership within an engineering team.
