Lever, Inc. is seeking a Sr Software Engineer (React.js / Next.js) based in India to design and deliver scalable, high-quality web applications.

You will work across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with product managers, designers, QA, backend, and DevOps to build responsive, secure, and high-performance experiences for enterprise users. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience building enterprise web applications.
• Strong React.js, Next.js, JavaScript ES6+, and TypeScript proficiency.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design and modern front-end architectures.
• Experience with SSR/SSG in Next.js and API integration including REST/GraphQL.
• Experience with state management and data fetching libraries (Redux, React Query, etc.).
• Familiarity with build tools (Vite/Webpack) and version control (Git).
• Understanding of security, authentication/authorization patterns, and web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Experience in front-end testing/automation (Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
• Ability to mentor and lead engineers; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable enterprise web apps using React.js/Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and RESTful APIs.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Software Engineer (React.js / Next.js) based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver scalable, high-quality web applications using modern front-end technologies. You will contribute to responsive, accessible, secure, and high-performance digital experiences used in an enterprise environment. Working across the full development lifecycle, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, backend developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders. The position combines hands‑on development with front‑end architecture, API integration, testing, cloud deployment, and production support. You will also contribute to technical decisions, code quality, performance optimization, and the evolution of large‑scale applications. As a senior engineer, you will mentor other developers and help promote technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable enterprise web applications using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs.
• Build responsive, accessible, reusable, maintainable, and high-performance UI components following modern front‑end engineering practices.
• Develop applications that integrate with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, third‑party systems, and enterprise platforms.
• Apply Next.js capabilities including server‑side rendering, static site generation, routing, API integration, rendering strategies, and performance optimization.
• Implement effective state management and data‑fetching solutions using technologies such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, React Query/TanStack Query, or SWR.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts, integration patterns, data flows, authentication, authorization, and error‑handling approaches.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions, contributing to front‑end architecture, scalability, security, accessibility, and performance decisions.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical feedback, and promote clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Work with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, monitoring, releases, incident management, and production operations.
• Implement and maintain front‑end testing and automation practices using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with React, Next.js, TypeScript, web development practices, and emerging technologies relevant to enterprise applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands‑on software development experience, including significant experience building enterprise‑level web applications.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with React.js, Next.js, JavaScript ES6+, and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, modern browser technologies, and reusable front‑end architecture.
• Proven experience with Next.js concepts including SSR, SSG, routing, API integration, rendering strategies, and performance optimization.
• Experience with React state management and data‑fetching libraries such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, React Query/TanStack Query, or SWR.
• Strong experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL, including asynchronous programming, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks, styling systems, or component libraries such as Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Chakra UI, Styled Components, Emotion, Shadcn/UI, or Radix UI.
• Familiarity with modern build tools and package managers including Vite, Webpack, Babel, npm, Yarn, or pnpm.
• Experience with Git, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
• Hands‑on experience with front‑end testing and automation frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Understanding of web application security, including OAuth2, JWT, authentication and authorization patterns, secure coding practices, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of application monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience supporting production applications, including incident troubleshooting, resolution, and ITSM processes such as ServiceNow or similar platforms.
• Healthcare domain experience, including healthcare workflows, terminology, HIPAA, PHI, or healthcare applications, is preferred.
• Experience with design systems, reusable component libraries, micro‑frontends, large‑scale front‑end architectures, or distributed systems is an advantage.
• Additional experience with GraphQL, API gateways, gRPC, event‑driven integrations, NoSQL databases, Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, web performance optimization, WCAG accessibility, or other modern front‑end frameworks is a plus.
• Experience providing technical leadership, contributing to architecture decisions, and mentoring engineering teams is highly valuable.
