Position Overview
Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) – Agentic ERP Platform
The Senior Software Engineer is a core member of the Product Delivery engineering team tasked with building and evolving Rimini Street’s Agentic ERP Platform. The platform enables AI agents to interact with legacy ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle E‑Business Suite, and JD Edwards, spanning backend services, AI integration, and frontend user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java21 and Quarkus, including MCP servers, REST APIs, and platform services.
- Build and support integration components that connect AI agents to enterprise ERP systems (SAP, OracleEBS, JDEdwards).
- Develop data access layers with PostgreSQL, leveraging pgvector for vector storage and similarity search.
- Implement resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and bulkheads using Resilience4j.
- Write clean, testable, well‑documented code following established engineering standards.
- Develop AI agent components using Python and frameworks such as Pydantic AI or LangChain4j.
- Integrate with LLM services via a LiteLLM gateway and build RAG pipelines for contextual knowledge retrieval.
- Implement orchestration workflows with Restate for multi‑step agent processes, including human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints.
- Build user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript, creating responsive layouts with CSS3, Tailwind CSS, and Angular Material.
- Develop dashboards, admin panels, and monitoring views for agent performance and system health.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical design reviews.
- Write unit and integration tests, and contribute to automated testing frameworks.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, and instrument code with OpenTelemetry.
- Collaborate with team members across time zones in a virtual environment.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture decision records, and knowledge sharing materials.
Qualifications
- 9+ years of professional full‑stack software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development background with Java11+ (Java17/21 preferred), experience with Quarkus or Spring Boot.
- Proficient in Python; experience building services or scripts.
- Front‑end experience with Angularv14+ and TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind, SCSS, or CSS‑in‑JS).
- Experience building component libraries or contributing to design systems.
- Solid knowledge of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and RESTful API design.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery practices.
- Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts.
- Preferred: experience with AI/ML frameworks (Pydantic AI, LangChain, LangChain4j), LLM integration, vector databases (pgvector, Qdrant), and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, or Prometheus.
- Preferred: familiarity with agent‑tool integration patterns (MCP), workflow orchestration frameworks (Restate, Temporal), and enterprise integration patterns (messaging, event‑driven architecture).
- Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills across multiple layers of the stack.
- Ownership mentality—responsible for features from design through production deployment.
- Effective communication skills; able to articulate technical concepts to stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in enterprise software or platform product development.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards) in any capacity.
- AWS or Kubernetes certifications.
- Contributions to open‑source projects.
