Job summary

Data Direct Networks in Pune, India is seeking a Sr Software Engineer for the Ecosystem team to design, build, and deliver key components of our storage platform, integrating with cloud and containerized environments. You will lead scalable software-defined storage components, participate in design reviews, drive prototypes, and ensure reliability, performance, and enterprise integration.

8+ years in C/C++, Linux, and distributed systems are required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience with file systems, concurrency, multithreading, server architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with scale-out storage solutions and Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong background in C/C++ development and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver key components of DDN’s Ecosystem platform.
• Develop scalable software-defined storage components with reliability and enterprise integration.
• Lead design reviews, prototypes, and trade-off analysis for product features.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and field teams to deliver customer value.
• Plan and execute releases, feature development, and defect resolution.

We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer for our Ecosystem team who will design, build, and deliver key components of DDN’s Ecosystem platform. This role will focus on developing robust, scalable, and high-performance software that integrates with modern storage, cloud, and containerized environments while working closely with engineering, product, and field teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Participate in the design and implementation of scalable software-defined storage components, with emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and integration with enterprise infrastructure.

Drive technical design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, build prototypes, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality product features from concept through release.

Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and continuously improve the scalability, stability, reliability, and performance of solutions.

Collaborate closely with teammates, architects, QA, product management, and support teams in an outcome-oriented environment focused on delivering practical customer value.

Work closely with stakeholders to plan, execute, and successfully deliver product releases, including feature development, defect resolution, and release readiness activities.

Contribute to and validate product documentation, ensuring technical accuracy, usability, and alignment with implemented functionality.

Effectively manage assigned projects by breaking down work, tracking dependencies, communicating risks, and driving tasks to completion.

Provide regular reports on project progress, technical activity, risks, and key accomplishments to ensure stakeholders remain informed.

Qualifications:

BS/MS/Ph.D in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related experience.

Experience:

8+ years of experience years of software development experience with file systems, concurrency, multithreading, server architectures and distributed systems.

Excellent hands-on software development experience on scale-out and high availability storage solution.

Experience in developing and debugging at system level C/C++, particularly for Linux/UNIX computing environments.

Hadoop product development is highly preferred.
