Job summary

Data Direct Networks is seeking a Staff Engineer – Infrastructure Engineering & DevOps to design, build, and evolve hybrid infrastructure. You will work hands-on across cloud automation, high-performance bare-metal systems, and DevOps tooling to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure that accelerates software delivery.

This role requires cross-functional collaboration with Development, DevOps, and QA teams to solve infra and release challenges. Occasional in-person meetings may be needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps roles.
• Hands-on with hybrid cloud and bare-metal infra.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve hybrid infrastructure systems.
• Build internal tools and automation for scalability.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code practices and APIs.
• Support multi-tenant workloads with observability.
• Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, QA across release cycles.
• Provide guidance to DevOps and platform engineers.

As a Staff Engineer – Infrastructure Engineering & DevOps, you will play a key technical leadership role in designing, building, and evolving our hybrid infrastructure and developer platforms. You’ll work hands-on across cloud automation, high-performance bare-metal systems, and DevOps tooling to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure that accelerates software delivery.

This role is highly cross-functional. You will collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, and QA teams to solve infrastructure and release challenges, support delivery cycles, and continuously improve platform capabilities. You’ll balance strong technical execution with architectural influence, contributing to system design while remaining directly involved in implementation and operational support.

Occasional in-person meetings or team events may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the design and evolution of hybrid infrastructure systems (cloud + bare metal)

Build and enhance internal tools and automation to improve scalability, reliability, and cost

Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code practices, platform APIs, and shared tooling

Support system designs that enable multi-tenant workloads, observability, and auditability

Engineering Collaboration & Delivery Support

Partner with Dev, DevOps, and QA teams to resolve infrastructure or deployment blockers

during release cycles

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to DevOps and platform engineers

Participate in architectural reviews, release readiness checkpoints, and root-cause analyses

Software Build & Release Pipelines

Design, implement, and operate build and release pipelines for hybrid environments,

including GPU-based bare-metal systems

Improve test orchestration, staging workflows, and artifact delivery pipelines

Integrate automation with infrastructure-level controls for access, audit, and security

compliance

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering roles

Hands-on experience with hybrid infrastructure (cloud + bare metal)

Deep knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes)

Proven cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred Qualifications

Experience with GPU-accelerated compute or HPC-style infrastructure

Familiarity with platform engineering or developer experience optimization

Experience with high-velocity release cycles and incident response

This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
