DDN is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data Ocean engineering team and contribute to the development of control plane services, platform management capabilities, and software quality initiatives.
This role focuses on building reliable control path components that support platform orchestration, configuration management, monitoring, and integration across Data Ocean services. The engineer will also play a key role in improving software quality through automation, validation frameworks, feature verification, and continuous integration improvements.
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with experience in C++, Go, or Java, Linux-based development, automation, and distributed systems concepts. This is a hands-on role involving software development, testing, debugging, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver high-quality production software.
Control Path Development
Develop and maintain control plane services supporting Data Ocean platform management and orchestration.
Design and implement management APIs and service interfaces.
Develop workflows for caching operations, data movement, configuration management, and platform lifecycle activities.
Build monitoring, telemetry, and operational capabilities to improve system visibility and reliability.
Support integration between Data Ocean components and external storage or platform services.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across distributed platform components.
Develop automated testing frameworks for validating Data Ocean features and services.
Create automation for functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
Perform feature validation and verification across distributed storage environments.
Collaborate with development teams to identify issues early and improve overall software quality.
Contribute to test strategy, automation coverage, and release readiness.
Support CI/CD improvements to enable faster and more reliable software delivery.
Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
Work closely with senior engineers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
Debug complex software issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Follow engineering best practices for design, coding, testing, and documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development and validation processes.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience developing software applications, infrastructure software, or distributed systems.
Strong programming skills in C++, Go, or Java.
Experience with Linux-based software development.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
Experience building automation frameworks and software validation tools.
Understanding of storage systems, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure concepts.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Kubernetes and container-based environments.
Experience with Python-based automation and testing frameworks.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation.
Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure platforms.
Knowledge of enterprise storage systems or distributed data platforms.
Experience with performance testing, system validation, or large-scale software testing.
