OVERVIEW

You will build and enhance end-to-end digital solutions across web applications, APIs, cloud services, data integrations, and AI-augmented engineering workflows at General Mills. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex business applications, partner with global teams, and influence how modern software solutions are designed, developed, and delivered. You will collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, and cross-functional partners to create scalable, reliable, and high-quality applications using React, .NET, Python, and cloud-native technologies. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using React, .NET, Python, and API-first engineering practices.


• Take ownership of critical production issues and drive timely resolution with strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.


• Lead complex technical designs and implementations across user interface, API, integration, and data layers, applying sound design patterns and modern architecture principles.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new software features and ensure effective integration across systems, platforms, and cloud services.


• Drive technical initiatives such as adopting new technologies, improving engineering practices, strengthening CI/CD pipelines, and increasing delivery efficiency.


• High code quality through coding standards, peer reviews, automated testing, secure coding practices, and maintainable design.


• Take ownership of delivered solutions, ensuring quality, performance, scalability, long-term maintainability, and alignment with microservices or modular architecture principles where appropriate.


• Mentor team members, share technical knowledge, and support the adoption of cloud technologies, emerging tools, AI-augmented software engineering approaches, and effective use of AI tools and LLM models to build business solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.


• Strong hands‑on experience building end-to-end applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, .NET, and RESTful APIs.


• Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript front-end development.


• Experience designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting scalable applications across UI, API, data, and integration layers, including Python-based services or automation where needed.


• Experience with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server or NoSQL platforms, and strong understanding of data access and performance optimization.


• Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containers, source control workflows, and modern software engineering delivery methods.


• Strong understanding of agile ways of working, including task planning, sprint execution, estimation, and iterative delivery.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.


• Demonstrated problem‑solving ability, ownership mindset, ability to work independently on large or complex projects, and knowledge of design patterns, microservices architecture, and how LLM models work, including experience using or training LLM-based solutions where applicable.


• Hands‑on experience building, integrating, or operating AI or LLM‑powered applications and features in production or production‑like environments.


• Demonstrated context engineering skills, including prompt and spec management


• Practical experience with agentic coding tools and harnesses (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or similar), including the judgment to scope, review, and verify AI-generated output.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.


• Experience with API‑first architecture, domain‑driven design, or event‑driven and microservices‑based systems.


• Experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure, including cloud‑native deployment and observability practices.


• Experience with microservices, containers, and modern deployment practices across enterprise‑scale environments.


• Experience with technologies such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, Python, Next.js, .NET Blazor, Tableau, or AI/ML toolchains including prompt engineering, LLM integration, fine‑tuning, or model evaluation.


• Interest in evaluating new tools, building proofs of concept, and applying emerging technologies including AI and LLM‑driven capabilities to business solutions.


• Demonstrated ability to mentor others, elevate team technical capability, and influence engineering best practices across the organization.
