Job description

Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We help healthcare organizations build innovation capabilities and accelerate key growth initiatives, enabling organizations to own the future, instead of being disrupted by it. Together, we empower clients to create sustainable growth, optimize internal processes and deliver better consumer outcomes. Health systems, hospitals and medical clinics are under immense pressure to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of providing patient care. Investing in new partnerships, clinical services and technology is not enough to create meaningful and substantive change. To succeed long-term, healthcare organizations must empower leaders, clinicians, employees, affiliates and communities to build cultures that foster innovation to achieve the best outcomes for patients. Joining the Huron team means you’ll help our clients evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment and optimize existing business operations, improve clinical outcomes, create a more consumer‑centric healthcare experience, and drive physician, patient and employee engagement across the enterprise.

Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

As a Senior QA Test Engineer, you will be a key contributor in ensuring the quality of Huron’s enterprise applications. The successful candidate will help define and ensure that Huron’s applications meet high standards for reliability, usability, and performance. You will work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams in the design, implementation, release, and maintenance of multi‑user, dynamic, web‑based, and analytics applications. This role requires a passion for delivering exceptional products, the curiosity and drive to understand client application usage patterns and behaviors, the technical skills to develop reusable and automated tests to ensure a high‑quality user experience, and the independence and persistence to own and drive quality throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires strong expertise in API and Performance Testing using JMeter, Playwright Automation Framework with JavaScript/TypeScript, basic database concepts including SQL queries and data validation, troubleshooting and debugging, and experience working in Agile development environments. The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Responsibilities
  • Own and execute manual and automated testing activities across the complete software development lifecycle, ensuring releases meet quality objectives and timelines.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain API and performance test scripts using JMeter, including workload modeling, test execution, results analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Analyze test and performance results, troubleshoot issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and work closely with development teams to drive defects through resolution.
  • Develop and maintain UI automation using Playwright with TypeScript, creating reliable and reusable automation scripts for functional and regression testing.
  • Review technical design documents and participate in design and architecture discussions, providing QA perspectives on testability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Estimate QA effort for user stories and defects and develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
  • Generate and maintain appropriate test data to address testing requirements and data gaps.
  • Perform database validation using SQL queries and validate data integrity across application and backend systems.
  • Conduct performance testing to identify performance bottlenecks, capacity limitations, scalability concerns, potential performance debt, communicate performance issues to engineering teams.
  • Identify and communicate release risks, quality concerns, and potential production‑impacting issues to QA and project leadership.
  • Participate in bug scrub meetings, release readiness discussion.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, techniques, and automation approaches to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
  • Review QA deliverables and provide technical guidance and feedback to other QA team members.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams members to ensure requirements are testable and comprehensive test coverage is achieved.
  • Support QA/UAT environments and understand the build and deployment process.
  • Support test execution during release cycles and provide quality status, risks, and defect updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure testing activities align with Huron’s quality standards and contribute to delivering a reliable, usable, and high‑performing product.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, automation frameworks, performance testing capabilities, and release processes.
Qualifications Required / Must Have
  • 5+ years of professional QA/Test Engineering experience with strong experience in both manual and automation testing.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with API Testing and Performance Testing using JMeter.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot JMeter performance tests, rather than only having exposure to the tool.
  • Strong hands‑on experience developing Playwright automation using TypeScript.
  • Experience designing and maintaining reusable automation frameworks and automated regression suites.
  • Strong understanding of API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP methods, request/response validation, status codes, authentication, and JSON/XML payloads.
  • Good understanding of SQL and database validation, including writing queries to validate application data and backend processing.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end‑to‑end testing.
