We are looking for a Sr. Product Engineer – R&D who can take ownership of product development from concept and engineering design through prototyping, testing, validation, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead R&D and new product development for liquid cooling, thermal management and data-center cooling products.
- Develop and improve CDUs, L2L/L2A cooling systems, heat exchangers, manifolds, piping assemblies, pumps, valves and associated mechanical components.
- Convert customer and product requirements into engineering specifications, concepts and detailed designs.
- Perform thermal, fluid-flow and mechanical engineering calculations for cooling systems.
- Work closely with the Thermal/CFD, Mechanical Design, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
- Develop prototypes and coordinate prototype build, testing, validation and design iterations.
- Analyze test results and implement design improvements for performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost optimization.
- Prepare and review 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, engineering specifications and design documentation.
- Apply GD&T, DFM/DFA and Design for Reliability principles during product development.
- Support root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective actions for product and field issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers for component development, technical evaluation and qualification.
- Support product industrialization and transition from R&D to manufacturing.
- Participate in design reviews, FMEA, risk assessment and engineering change management.
- Work on continuous improvement of existing products and development of next-generation cooling solutions.
- Support technical discussions with customers and overseas engineering teams when required.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Product Development / R&D / Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in thermal management, cooling systems, HVAC, refrigeration, heat exchangers or fluid systems.
- Good understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Experience with pumps, valves, piping, manifolds, heat exchangers and coolant circuits is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design and engineering drawings.
- Experience with SolidWorks / Creo / NX / CATIA or similar 3D CAD tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-up and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in prototype development, product testing and validation.
- Exposure to CFD / thermal simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, Icepak, FloTHERM or similar is an advantage.
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication, sheet metal, machining and assembly processes.
- Understanding of BOM, engineering change management and product lifecycle processes.
