Job summary

Vedam Design in Mumbai seeks a Naval Architect with 2–3 years of experience to contribute to ship design and structural integrity studies. You will perform stability analysis, weight estimation, and drafting surveys to support project teams across design phases.

The role requires familiarity with FORAN, Maxsurf, ANSYS, and AutoCAD, plus strong English communication and documentation skills. This position is based in Mumbai with onsite collaboration and project coordination across internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture required.
• 2–3 years’ experience in naval architecture, ship design, stability or marine engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform lightship weight estimation and tracking.
• Conduct stability analysis and prepare stability documentation.
• Perform longitudinal strength calculations.
• Carry out freeboard calculations per regulations.
• Prepare tank calibration reports.
• Conduct inclining experiments and drafts surveys.
• Coordinate with internal teams on design and engineering activities.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with statutory rules and classification society requirements.
• Review ship structural arrangements and components.
