Job summary

Axium Global Pvt Ltd's Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer. You will lead design of HVAC systems across concept to tender design, mentor juniors, and liaise with clients.

The role requires 6+ years of HVAC design for commercial, residential, retail, labs and hospitals, familiarity with ASHRAE/SMACNA, and proficiency in Trane Trace, Camel, IES VE, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam; leadership potential to grow a team.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in designing HVAC systems.
• Experience designing HVAC for commercial, residential, retail projects.
• Experience with sustainability-based projects (preferred).
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and SMACNA standards.
• Proficient IT skills: MS Office, HVAC software, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
• Good communication with clients and regular interaction.
• Experience on US/UK/Australia projects advantageous.

This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Global's Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The senior engineer would require taking on a leadership role with the potential of growing a team reporting to them.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the overall design of HVAC systems & deliverables, including Concept, Scheme, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specification, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Design to current legislation and codes of practice
• Independently communicate with clients on a regular basis
• Mentor and assist Junior engineers
• Prepared to undergo training in learning new software if needed
• Open to work odd hours if required to meet deadlines
• Willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback
• Regular communication with the client and taking on design responsibilities on project types like commercial, residential, retail, laboratories & hospitals
• Understanding codes & standards local to project location and utilizing the latest & industry leading software
• To take on a leadership role with the potential of growing a team reporting to them
  

Qualification & Experience Required:

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
• 6+ years of experience in designing of HVAC systems
• Experience in design of HVAC systems for commercial, residential, retail projects
• Ideally, should have experience of sustainability-based project
• Good understating & knowledge of international codes like ASHRAE, SMACNA
• Good IT skills comprising Microsoft Office, HVAC cooling load software (Trane Trace, Camel, IES VE etc), AutoCAD, Bluebeam
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with client on a regular basis
• Consistently produce accurate work without errors
• Experience working on US/UK/Australia projects will be an added advantage
