Job summary

Precision Precast Solutions (PPS) Pvt Ltd seeks a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design from concept to detailed engineering in Pune. Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 8–15 years of mechanical design experience in Oil &Gas, Refinery, or Chemical industries.
• Knowledge of ASME and API codes.
• Experience with equipment sizing, piping specifications, and hydraulic/stress calculations.
• Familiarity with engineering software and MS Office.
• Vendor data review experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the mechanical design process from concept through detailed engineering.

Job description

Lead and guide the mechanical design process from concept through detailed engineering, collaborating with engineers and designers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Estimate and track engineering effort and resources required for assigned projects, supporting effective planning and execution.

Participate in field surveys to support optimal equipment layout and ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Perform and oversee mechanical design tasks including equipment sizing, piping specifications, and hydraulic/stress calculations.

Develop and review technical documentation such as equipment specifications, data sheets, and vendor packages; support procurement with material take-offs and technical evaluations.

Review vendor data and ensure compliance with design requirements and project standards.

Collaborate in multi-discipline design reviews and squad checks to ensure integration across engineering disciplines.

Coordinate with the Project Manager to maintain project schedules, budgets, and scope alignment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.

8–15 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Chemical industries.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and relevant codes (e.g., ASME, API, PFDs, P&IDs, piping codes).

Experience developing equipment specifications, performing design calculations, and reviewing vendor data.

Familiarity with engineering software and tools; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.

Prior experience with a consulting engineering firm is a plus.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
