Proofpoint in Hyderabad is seeking a QA Senior Manager to lead and grow our Quality Assurance team. You will drive test planning, automation strategies, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality releases for global customers.

The role requires 8+ years in QA with leadership experience and the ability to coordinate between India and the US team in Sunnyvale. A strong focus on process improvement and stakeholder communication is essential.

Job Description QA Senior Manager

About the role We are seeking an experienced and driven QA Senior Manager to lead and expand our Quality Assurance team. This role is critical in ensuring product quality, aligning QA efforts with company strategy, and serving as the primary liaison between India and US in Sunnyvale.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Growth Recruit and onboard, and develop a high-performing QA team Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement Mentor QA engineers and support their professional development
• Operational Management Oversee day-to-day QA operations, ensuring efficient test planning and execution Establish and maintain QA processes, standards, and best practices Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases
• Stakeholder Communication Provide weekly status reports to HQ in US, including progress, risks, and key metrics Act as the primary point of contact for on-site QA engineers, addressing concerns and enabling success Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and leadership teams
• Strategic Alignment Ensure QA activities and deliverables are aligned with company roadmap and top management priorities Identify risks early and proactively propose mitigation strategies Contribute to release planning and quality strategy at a global level

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
• Proven experience building and scaling QA teams
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks
• Experience working in a distributed/global environment
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones
• Strong organizational and reporting skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with HQ or stakeholders in the US
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Background in both manual and automated testing strategies
• Ability to balance hands-on involvement with strategic leadership
