Function: Electrical Project Engineering & Execution
Job Purpose
Lead electrical engineering and project execution activities for SMS-3, ensuring timely implementation of electrical systems, power distribution, drives, substations, automation interfaces, commissioning, and plant energization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering and execution activities for the SMS-3 project.
- Review electrical design philosophy, SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and electrical layouts.
- Coordinate design and engineering activities with consultants, EPC contractors, technology suppliers, and OEMs.
- Plan and execute electrical power distribution systems including:
- Receiving substations
- Transformers
- HT/LT switchgear
- MCCs/PCCs
- Bus ducts
- Power and control cables
- UPS/DC systems
- Emergency power systems
- Coordinate electrical requirements for IF, LF,CCM, cranes, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, FES, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
- Review and coordinate high-power equipment and electrical interfaces with technology suppliers.
- Monitor electrical equipment manufacturing, FAT, inspection, delivery, erection, and commissioning.
- Supervise electrical installation, cable laying, termination, earthing, lighting, and equipment energization.
- Coordinate with Automation and Instrumentation teams for PLC/DCS, drives, communication, and control interfaces.
- Ensure proper integration of electrical protection, interlocks, drives, and control systems.
- Review protection coordination, relay settings, short-circuit calculations, load flow, and electrical safety requirements.
- Lead pre-commissioning and energization activities.
- Coordinate electrical trials, equipment commissioning, load trials, and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, statutory requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Monitor project progress, contractor performance, quality, and expenditure.
- Resolve electrical interface issues with Mechanical, Civil, Automation, Production, and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure preparation and handover of as-built drawings, test reports, relay settings, manuals, and electrical documentation.
