Job description

Purpose/Objective

The Manager - Electrical will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, testing, commissioning, and successful handover of electrical systems for Thermal Power Plant Projects. The role involves managing electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, and achieving project milestones within approved timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Project Execution & Construction - Lead electrical project execution activities for thermal power plant projects.
• Monitor installation and commissioning of electrical equipment as per engineering specifications and project schedules.
• Ensure timely completion of electrical works related to BTG and BOP packages.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, and construction teams for seamless project execution.
• Review project drawings, technical documents, and method statements before execution.
• Track project progress and proactively address execution bottlenecks.
• Electrical Systems & Equipment - Manage installation and commissioning of:
  • Generators and Generator Transformers (GT)
  • Unit Auxiliary Transformers (UAT)

• Coordinate with OEMs, consultants, and contractors during testing and commissioning stages.
• Ensure compliance with CEA regulations and industry standards.
• Contractor & Resource Management - Monitor contractor productivity and progress.
• Review work measurements, certifications, and billing.
• Ensure availability of manpower, materials, and tools at project sites.
• Conduct regular review meetings with contractors and vendors.
• Safety, Quality & Compliance - Ensure implementation of EHS standards and safe work practices.
• Enforce compliance with statutory requirements, electrical codes, and organizational standards.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to approved quality plans.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.
• Planning & Coordination - Coordinate with planning teams for project schedules and milestone tracking.
• Monitor critical path activities and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in review meetings and prepare progress reports for management.
• Support budget monitoring and cost control initiatives.
