Job summary

Schneider Electric in India seeks an Experienced EHS professional to lead site-specific compliance, risk management, and training programs. You will maintain permits, conduct rigorous investigations, and drive sustainability across operations with a strong focus on ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

You will oversee LOTO and Permit to Work systems, implement a performance management framework, and mentor teams to uphold safety cultures while reducing environmental impact.

Qualifications

  • Independently manage site-specific EHS legal compliance and ensure adherence to state regulations.
  • Maintain environmental and safety permits, licences, approvals, and statutory documentation.
  • Implement Performance Management System requirements for EHS metrics, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead advanced risk assessments using FMEA and HAZOP.
  • Conduct detailed accident and near-miss investigations using Root Cause Analysis.
  • Implement and maintain LOTO procedures and Permit to Work systems.
  • Design EHS training programmes aligned with site activities and risks.
  • Identify role-based training needs and ensure competency in safety procedures.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives related to waste, energy, environmental compliance, and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Audit EHS management systems based on ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Legal Management
  • Independently manage site-specific EHS legal compliance and ensure full adherence to applicable state regulations.
  • Maintain all required environmental and safety permits, licences, approvals, and statutory documentation.
  • Implement Schneider Performance Management System requirements for EHS metrics, monitoring, and reporting.
Risk Management & Incident Control
  • Lead advanced risk assessments using methods such as FMEA and HAZOP.
  • Conduct detailed accident and near-miss investigations using Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and maintain LOTO procedures and Permit to Work systems across operations.
Training & Development
  • Design EHS training programmes aligned with site activities and operational risks.
  • Identify role‑based training needs and ensure employees and workers are competent in required safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to build a proactive safety culture.
Technical Safety & Sustainability
  • Apply knowledge of arc flash safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics in daily operations.
  • Manage material handling practices to ensure safe storage, movement, and handling of goods.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives related to waste management, energy efficiency, environmental compliance, and carbon footprint reduction.
Management Systems
  • Design, implement, and audit EHS management systems based on ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 frameworks.
  • Monitor EHS performance indicators and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
  • Hands‑on experience with SPS will be an added advantage.
Education & Certification
  • Mandatory AICTE‑approved safety qualification with a minimum duration of 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Experience
  • 10–15 years of professional experience in the EHS domain.
  • Prior experience within Schneider Electric or familiarity with Schneider safety standards is preferred.
