The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated, curious, and energetic engineering leader who embraces solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Senior Manager, Engineering, you will lead and mentor teams delivering innovative solutions, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and driving adoption of GenAI to accelerate delivery of new payment flows, deepen client relationships, and diversify Visa's revenue streams.

The Work

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy-Now-Pay-Later technology.
• Make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities.

Essential Functions

• Work with product owners to gather and refine product requirements, considering existing tools and solutions across departments.
• Develop and design moderately advanced architectural solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations across the internal technical ecosystem.
• Provide domain expertise on user documentation of solutions and implement standard processes in user documentation.
• Play a significant role in the development and delivery of new features within a product from end to end.

This is a hybrid position. The expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or at least 5 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA, JD, MD), or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: 8-12 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree, or 3+ years of experience with a PhD.
• Built, managed, and mentored teams of innovative and collaborative software engineers.
• Track record of driving GenAI adoption within engineering teams to enhance operational excellence and deliver innovative, value-added services at scale.
• Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support package and product development.
• Knowledge of user interface design principles and how to provide an optimal industrial design experience through UI design.
• Knowledge of back-end development (Python, Java, C++, PHP) to support package and product development.
• Ability to develop and utilize APIs, a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications that specify how components interact.
• Knowledge of database software (applications, web-based applications, information systems) to maintain, modify, and output data.
• Knowledge of systems integration processes to combine separately produced components and address interaction problems.
• Knowledge of data structures that enable efficient access and modifications.
