Quest Global in Chennai, India is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop a modular automation framework for semiconductor wafer inspection recipe setup. The role focuses on building a configurable workflow engine and robust rule-driven decision paths to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

You will design and implement a scalable workflow execution framework, orchestration pipelines, and state management while applying OO design principles and patterns.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on development in C# and/or Java.
• Experience designing and developing workflow engines or automation platforms.
• Experience with rule-based, configuration-driven architectures.
• Strong OO design and design-pattern knowledge.
• Experience building large-scale enterprise software.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Objective

The objective is to reduce manual effort, improve recipe consistency, and capture domain expertise within a configurable workflow engine. The system will automate multiple recipe setup stages including alignment selection, optics configuration, inspection strategy selection, nuisance reduction configuration, and result generation. The solution will leverage existing inspection algorithms and business logic while providing a scalable framework for workflow orchestration, decision management, and recipe optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Workflow Framework Development:
• 1. Design and implement a modular workflow execution framework
• 2. Build configurable task orchestration mechanisms
• 3. Implement execution pipelines with conditional branching
• 4. Develop state management and workflow persistence capabilities
• Rule Engine Development:
• 1. Design a configurable rule management system
• 2. Implement decision-routing mechanisms based on wafer characteristics
• 3. Capture engineering best practices into reusable rule definitions
• 4. Support runtime selection of workflow paths

Work Experience

Required Qualifications-

• 9+ years of experience in Softwareengineering.
• Strong hands-on development experience in C# and/or Java.
• Proven experience in designing and developing workflow engines, orchestration systems, or automation platforms.
• Experience working with rule-based systems and configuration-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and design patterns.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale enterprise software systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications-

• Experience in the Semiconductor Equipment/Manufacturing domain.
• Exposure to complex business process automation and enterprise application architecture.
