Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Sr. FinOps Analyst in Bengaluru to drive cloud financial management and software asset governance.

You will transform usage and licensing data into actionable financial insights, partner with Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and IT, and utilize AI/ML to optimize spend and renewals. You will lead reporting, forecasting, and margins analysis while maintaining software inventory and renewal calendars.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, CS required.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or cloud cost management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to present findings to finance and non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support cloud cost allocation across Azure environments.
  • Detect anomalies in cloud usage and spending.
  • Analyze and improve cloud cost optimization opportunities.
  • Build reporting and dashboards to improve visibility into cost, margin, and utilization.
  • Forecast cloud spend using AI and machine learning techniques.
  • Analyze product margins and contribute to gross margin improvement.
  • Identify automation opportunities within FinOps workflows.
  • Improve spend alerting and license reconciliation processes.

It focuses on turning usage, licensing, and consumption data into clear financial insights that improve visibility, support decision-making, and identify opportunities to optimize spend.The position works across cloud cost allocation, anomaly detection, forecasting, reporting, and margin analysis. It also supports software inventory tracking, renewal management, and software contract optimization.You will partner closely with Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and IT to improve cloud economics, strengthen software governance, and identify automation opportunities using AI and machine learning.## Key Responsibilities– Support cloud cost allocation, anomaly detection, and optimization analysis across Azure environments. – Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards covering cost, margin, and utilization metrics. – Use AI and machine learning to improve anomaly detection, cloud spend forecasting, and optimization analysis. – Analyze cognitive product margins and support gross margin improvement efforts with data-driven recommendations. – Maintain the software asset inventory, including licenses, entitlements, and consumption tracking. – Manage the third-party software renewal calendar and coordinate timely, cost-effective renewals. – Identify and prototype AI-powered automation opportunities within FinOps and SAM workflows. – Support contract analysis, license reconciliation, and spend alerting automation. – Work with Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and IT on cloud optimization and software contract management.## Required Skills– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. – 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, cloud cost management, software asset management, or a related role. – Proficiency in SQL and Excel. – Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. – Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. – Ability to present findings clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences. – Understanding of software licensing models, including SaaS, subscription, consumption-based, and perpetual models.## Preferred Skills– Experience with Python. – Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools. – Experience applying AI/ML to financial analysis, anomaly detection, or automation workflows. – Hands-on experience with Azure cost management tools, Databricks, or Power BI. – Experience in enterprise SaaS, cloud technology, or the supply chain industry.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies### Cloud Providers – Azure### FinOps Platforms – Azure cost management tools### Programming Languages – SQL – Python### Data & Analytics – Excel – Databricks – Power BI### AI / Machine Learning – AI – Machine learning – AI/ML concepts and tools## FinOps Responsibilities– Support cloud cost allocation across Azure environments. – Detect anomalies in cloud usage and spending. – Analyze and improve cloud cost optimization opportunities. – Build reporting and dashboards to improve visibility into cost, margin, and utilization. – Forecast cloud spend using AI and machine learning techniques. – Analyze product margins and contribute to gross margin improvement. – Identify automation opportunities within FinOps workflows. – Improve spend alerting and license reconciliation processes.## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role combines cloud financial management, software asset management, and margin analysis in one position.
