Job summary

Illusion Dental Laboratory is seeking a skilled operator for sheet extrusion lines in Mumbai Suburban. You will set up and run lines for PET and related polymers, control temperature, speed, and die gaps, and ensure product quality.

You will manage material changes, monitor output, and minimize waste while following safety and 5S SOPs. The role requires hands-on experience with sheet extrusion processes and the ability to interpret process sheets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Plastics Technology, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Hands-on experience in sheet extrusion processing of PET/TPU/PP/HIPS/ABS/PC/PS.
• Ability to read process sheets and adhere to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and monitor sheet extrusion lines for materials such as G PET, A PET, RPET, TPU, PP, HIPS, LLDPE, ABS, PC, and PS.
• Control machine parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, die gap, chill roll) per material specs.
• Ensure consistent sheet thickness, width, surface finish, and clarity.
• Handle material changeovers and color changes efficiently.
• Monitor production output, minimize wastage and downtime.
• Identify and troubleshoot defects like bubbles, gel, thickness variation, warpage, and surface defects.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Maintain production records and quality check sheets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, and monitor sheet extrusion linesfor materials including G PET, A PET, RPET, TPU, PP, HIPS, LLDPE, ABS, PC, and PS.
• Perform machine setting and parameter control(temperature, pressure, speed, die gap, chill roll settings) based on material specifications.
• Ensure consistent sheet thickness, width, surface finish, and clarityas per quality standards.
• Handle material changeovers, color changes, and start-up/shutdown proceduresefficiently.
• Monitor production output and minimize wastage, scrap, and downtime.
• Identify and troubleshoot process defectssuch as bubbles, gel formation, thickness variation, warpage, and surface defects.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenanceand coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdowns.
• Maintain production records, material consumption logs, and quality check sheets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping (5S), and SOP guidelines.
• Support trials for new materials, recycled content (RPET), and process optimization.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on experience in sheet extrusion process.
• In-depth knowledge of PET (G PET, A PET, RPET), TPU, PP, HIPS, LLDPE, ABS, PC, PSprocessing behavior.
• Understanding of polymer drying requirements, especially for PET, PC, and ABS.
• Knowledge of extrusion dies, chill rolls, calendaring systems, and winding units.
• Ability to read and follow process sheets and quality standards.
• Basic knowledge of QC toolslike micrometer, thickness gauge, and visual inspection.

• Awareness of recycling material handling and contamination control (RPET).

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Plastics Technology, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal education.
