Job summary

Re Sustainability is seeking a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager for Laboratory Operations in Bargur @ Pochampalli, Tamil Nadu. The role oversees testing performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in environmental processes.

You will handle sample registration, physico-chemical analyses, and quality control while maintaining instruments and records. Prior experience in managing operational teams is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSc./BSc in chemistry or environmental chemistry is required.
• 0–5 years of relevant laboratory testing experience.
• Strong understanding of physico-chemical analysis processes.
• Knowledge of testing, chemical preparation and equipment handling.
• Experience in managing operational teams and plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Inward sample registration and proper labelling of incoming waste.
• Perform physico-chemical analysis of wastes, water, soil and samples.
• Conduct wet chemical analysis, digestion, titration and instrumentation analysis.
• Support waste characterization for stabilization, disposal or AFRF processes.
• Ensure timely completion of analyses and accurate reporting of results.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, glassware, reagents and standards.
• Follow ISO/IEC 17025 quality procedures and SOPs.
• Maintain calibration, maintenance, method validation and QC records.
• Participate in audits, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate sample receipt, preservation, storage and disposal.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Operations professional to join Re Sustainability and contribute to the safe, compliant and efficient operation of critical environmental infrastructure. The role will focus on testing performance, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, resource efficiency and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Inward sample registration, ensure proper sampling and labelling of each incoming waste.
• Perform physico chemical analysis of industrial waste, hazardous waste, water, wastewater, soil, and other environmental samples, as applicable.
• Conduct wet chemical analysis, sample preparation, digestion, titration, and instrumental analysis.
• Support waste characterization and suitability assessment for stabilization, landfill disposal, and alternative fuel and resource recovery (AFRF) operations.
• Ensure timely completion of analytical work and accurate reporting of test results.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, glassware, chemicals, reagents, and reference standards.
• Implement and maintain laboratory quality procedures in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Follow approved SOPs, work instructions, analytical methods, and quality control procedures.
• Maintain records for calibration, equipment maintenance, method validation, measurement uncertainty, and quality control.
• Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing, inter-laboratory comparisons, and corrective action activities.
• Ensure proper sample receipt, identification, preservation, storage, and disposal.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring and sampling activities for water, wastewater, ambient air, stack emissions, noise, and soil, as applicable.
• Instrumentation knowledge on Bomb Calorimeter, AAS, Spectrophotometer.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, reuse and resource efficiency.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Must Have

• MSc. in Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry / BSc Chemistry.
• 0-5 years of relevant Testing Laboratory experience in Water, Waste water, Ambient Air Quality, Stack Monitoring.
• Strong understanding of biological and physio-chemical Analysis processes.
• Knowledge of Testing, Chemical Preparation, Equipment Handling.
• Experience in managing operational teams and plant performance.

Good to Have

• Experience with any testing laboratory with equipment handling.
• Experience in water reuse, process optimisation or resource recovery.
