Job summary

HRD House in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned sourcing professional to lead raw material procurement for nutraceuticals. You will identify, evaluate and onboard reliable domestic and international suppliers, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with QA/QC, Regulatory, R&D and Supply Chain teams to optimize sourcing strategies, negotiate prices, and develop alternate sources to safeguard uninterrupted material supply.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years in RM sourcing or supplier development in nutraceuticals.
• Experience with botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, excipients.
• Ability to evaluate COA, TDS, SDS/MSDS and other documents.
• Experience in supplier qualification and vendor development with QA/QC, Regulatory.
• Experience in price negotiation and sourcing strategies.
• Experience supporting NPD by ingredient identification and trials.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source nutraceutical raw materials and suppliers.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Candidate will be based at Bangalore plant responsible for identifying, sourcing and developing raw materials such as Nutraceuticals ingredients, botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, enzymes and excipients.
• 2. Candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and on boarding reliable domestic and international suppliers based on quality, capability, certifications, capacity and commercial competitiveness.
• 3. Candidate will be responsible for evaluating RM specifications, COA, TDS, SDS/MSDS and other technical documents in coordination with QA/QC and Regulatory teams.
• 4. Candidate will be responsible for developing alternate sources for critical ingredients, monitoring supply availability and ensuring uninterrupted RM availability as per production requirements.
• 5. Candidate will be responsible for conducting price benchmarking, supplier negotiations and identifying cost-saving opportunities through alternate suppliers, volume negotiations and value engineering.
• 6. Candidate will be responsible for supporting R&D and NPD activities by sourcing samples, evaluating suitable ingredients and identifying innovative ingredients for Nutraceuticals and wellness formulations.
• 7. Candidate will be responsible for monitoring ingredient market trends, supplier performance, lead times, inventory levels and regulatory developments to support effective RM planning and procurement.

Candidate Preferred

• 1. Candidate should have a B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology, Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering, B.Pharm/M.Pharm, or M.Sc. in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry or Microbiology, with 4-8 years of relevant experience in raw material sourcing, procurement or supplier development within Nutraceuticals, wellness, dietary supplements, functional foods or pharmaceutical ingredients.
• 2. Candidate should have experience in handling Nutraceuticals ingredients including botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, actives and excipients.
• 3. Candidate should have experience in evaluating supplier technical and quality documentation such as COA, specifications, TDS, SDS/MSDS, allergen and regulatory declarations.
• 4. Candidate should have experience in supplier qualification, vendor development, alternate source development and coordination with QA/QC, Regulatory, R&D and Supply Chain teams.
• 5. Candidate should have experience in price negotiation, cost optimisation, market benchmarking and developing commercially competitive sourcing strategies.
• 6. Candidate should have experience in supporting new product development through ingredient identification, sample sourcing, formulation trials and evaluation of alternate ingredients.
