Job summary

Walplast Products invites an experienced Sr. Executive/Assistant Manager to lead Production Operations at Ankleshwar, Gujarat. The role focuses on monitoring process parameters, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency across the gypsum board line.

The candidate should have 8-10 years of relevant experience and hold a Diploma or BE in Mechanical engineering, with deep knowledge of gypsum board production and process control.

Responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to reduce losses.
• Coordinate with maintenance to resolve recurring process-related issues.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment improvement activities.

Job description

Sr. Executive/Assistant Manager - Production Operations- Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

Role & responsibilities

1. Process Monitoring and Control

• Monitor all process parameters across the gypsum board production line.
• Ensure proper control of gypsum slurry density, temperature, setting time, and consistency.
• Monitor stucco quality, calcination parameters, and gypsum powder characteristics.
• Maintain optimum line speed and ensure stable board formation.
• Monitor paper alignment, slurry application, board thickness, and edge formation.
• Ensure process parameters are maintained within defined operating limits.

2. Production Planning and Target Achievement

• Coordinate with the Production Manager to achieve daily and monthly production targets.
• Monitor production output, line speed, and machine utilization.
• Identify process-related bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Minimize production losses due to process deviations.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve recurring process-related breakdowns.

3. Product Quality Management

• Ensure finished boards meet approved quality specifications.
• Monitor board thickness, width, length, weight, density, and squareness.
• Control board setting, bonding, core formation, and paper adhesion.
• Investigate bonding failures, edge damage, cracks, and other quality defects.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control team for testing and corrective actions.
• Maintain process records and ensure compliance with quality standards.

4. Yield and Process Loss Reduction

• Monitor raw material consumption per MT or per square metre of finished board.
• Optimize stucco, starch, foam, additives, and other raw material consumption.
• Identify and reduce rejection, scrap, and rework.
• Analyze yield losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve material utilization and overall process efficiency.

5. Stucco and Calcination Process

• Monitor gypsum calcination parameters, including temperature, feed rate, and residence time.
• Ensure consistent stucco quality and stable supply to the board line.
• Monitor calciner and mill performance in coordination with the concerned departments.
• Identify variations in stucco quality affecting board setting and bonding.
• Optimize calcination and grinding parameters to improve product quality and reduce energy consumption.

6. Equipment and Process Coordination

• Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical teams to ensure reliable operation of process equipment.
• Monitor the performance of mixers, feeders, conveyors, pumps, and other process-related equipment.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions and report them promptly.
• Support root cause analysis of recurring process failures.
• Participate in preventive maintenance planning and equipment improvement activities.
