Job summary

Arrow Associates Infrastructure Private Limited is seeking a Track Alignment Designer (Rails & Metro) in Gurugram. The role involves planning and designing rail and metro track alignments, producing geometric designs, drawings and technical reports to international standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in rail or metro geometry design, including exposure to international projects, and a strong ability to cooperate with multidisciplinary teams and manage design

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Rail, Metro, or High Speed Rail geometric design.
  • Experience on international projects (Middle East, Europe, SE Asia, Africa) preferred.
  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of track geometry, structure and design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design track alignment including switches, crossovers, platforms, and track components.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, codes and company quality plans.
  • Produce calculations, drawings, assemblies, and technical reports.
  • Develop methodologies to add value and align with client objectives.
  • Create templates, checklists, and standard design processes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to resolve issues.

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Track Alignment Design Engineer with strong technical expertise in the planning and design of rail and metro infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing geometric designs, detailed drawings, and design documentation in compliance with national and international standards.


The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost‑effective track alignment solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.


This role requires deep knowledge of geometric design standards, safety principles, project coordination, and the ability to deliver high‑quality design outputs within schedule.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design track alignment, including switch and crossover design, platform design, track componentry, regression analysis, track bed design, and interdisciplinary coordination.

  • Take ownership of design ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and company quality management plans.

  • Execute comprehensive design tasks including calculations, generation of drawings, assemblies, subassemblies, and corridors, as well as preparation of technical reports — while fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and engineering excellence.

  • Develop and implement technical methodologies that add value to project scopes and align with client and organisational objectives.

  • Create and maintain templates, checklists, and standard processes to enhance design efficiency and quality.

  • Proactively engage with clients and regional teams to define task scopes.

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, internal stakeholders, and external clients to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Innovate and promote the adoption of sustainable design solutions, new technologies, and automation to improve project delivery and sustainability outcomes.

  • Development and enhancement of standardised design processes and contribute to automation initiatives.


Technical Coordination


  • Experience with local and international design standards, including IRSOD, UIC and AREMA, metro etc.

  • Coordinate with drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, and other linear disciplines for integrated design development.

  • Assist in cross-section optimization, ROW optimization, and layout improvements.

  • Support BOQ preparation and provide design inputs for pavement and quantity calculations.


Delivery& Project Support


  • Ensure design outputs comply with company standards, client specifications, and statutory requirements.

  • Participate in internal design reviews, quality checks, and coordination meetings.

  • Manage multiple design packages and meet delivery schedules.

  • Prepare and update design drawings, reports, and technical notes.

  • Support tender submissions, feasibility studies, and value engineering activities.

  • Assist senior engineers in resolving technical issues and responding to client comments.


Qualifications & Skills

Education


  • Masters in Civil Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.


Experience


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Rail, Metro, High Speed Rail geometric design.

  • Exposure to international projects (Middle East, Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa) is preferred.

  • Experience working on large-scale or complex railway projects, including highspeed rail projects is an advantage.


Technical & Professional Skills


  • Strong understanding of track geometry, structure, and design principles.

  • Ability to interpret client requirements and apply appropriate standards.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively within project teams.
