Job summary

Metso in Gurgaon, India seeks a Sr Engineer, Quality – Fabrication to manage supplier quality from selection to material receipt. You will lead audits, develop quality plans, and drive corrective actions with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials for Metso Outotec operations.

The role requires hands-on QA/QC experience with castings, welding qualification, and strong knowledge of IS/ASTM standards, with travel up to 60% locally.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in relevant field.
• More than 3 years’ experience in supplier quality management for Fabrication/Forging/PU media/Components.
• Experience in product development and project management practices.
• Hands-on QA/QC experience of castings.
• Certification in NDT testing of steel castings (DP, UT, MPI).
• Metallurgical knowledge (microstructure evaluation).
• Knowledge of IS and ASTM standards.
• Experience with complex product development and machinery/assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Develop supplier quality management for Fabrication & Forging, components, fasteners including NDT testing and welding qualification.
• Deploy supplier audit programs and run product development schedules and capability build-up.
• Develop and update supplier quality plans with process flows for fabrication, surface prep, dimensional accuracy, fixtures, and QC methods.
• Create inspection plans for incoming materials and ensure correct inspection processes by suppliers.
• Support procurement on non-conformities and corrective actions with suppliers.
• Provide technical comments on supplier quality problems.
• Participate in development and improvement projects and implement actions for better performance.
• Engage in groups/projects as supplier quality expert.
• Perform other tasks assigned by manager.
• Follow Quality KPI/ Audit records and uphold quality culture.

Job Title: Sr Engineer, Quality – Fabrication

JOB STATEMENT

Participate the supplier quality management process and to develop the supplier quality performance level: quality planning, quality control and quality improvement and develop the technical capabilities.

Contribute through own work significantly on the high-quality material flow to Metso Outotec units. The assignment contains from different problem-solving situation, analysing processes, documenting the root causes and to following the agreed corrective actions.

The job scope is working with suppliers used or to be used in the supply operation of Metso in India. Suppliers cover both material and service providers. Process scope is from supplier selection to receiving of the material.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Development of Supplier quality management related to Fabrication & Forging, Components, fasteners including NDT testing, welding qualification, gauging etc.
• Process Audits - Deploying supplier audit program & run product development schedule and capability build up, process adherence
• Developing and updating supplier quality plans, including process flow like – Fabrication process, Surface preparation, Dimensional Accuracy, Fixture operation, instruction, quality control methods during the key processes
• Developing the inspection plan of incoming material inspection flow and guarantee the suppliers implementing the correct inspection process
• Support the operative purchasing and procurement on analysing the non-conformities and claims relating the supplier management and achieving corrective actions internally and among suppliers
• Giving technical comments on product quality problems of suppliers
• Participate on agreed development and improvement projects and implement the agreed actions to achieve the better performance
• Participating in different groups and projects as supplier quality expert
• Other tasks assigned by manager
• Follow Quality KPI / Technical Audit records / Internal Audit and build systems defined to adhere quality culture.
• Quality Stakeholder management within Other BAs / BL.
