Job summary

NewSpace Research and Technologies in Bengaluru is hiring a Sr. Engineer I for Electrical Power Systems. In this role, you will take ownership of power electronics and electrical systems from design through production. Key responsibilities include circuit design, collaborative work with various teams, and the establishment of standard integration processes. The ideal candidate is proficient in power supply design and familiar with modeling and simulation tools, contributing to innovative solutions in defense technology.

Qualifications

• Strong hold on power supply design, power converters, and analog & digital control.
• Familiar with modeling & simulation tools such as Spice, MATLAB / Simulink, and PSIM.
• Familiar with tools such as spectrum analyzer, power analyzer, and oscilloscope.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of power electronics/electrical power systems from design to production.
• Conduct circuit design, BOM generation, and hardware validation.
• Collaborate with software, thermal, and manufacturing teams.

Sr. Engineer I - Electrical Power Systems

Who we are:

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes air/ground launched stand-off autonomous systems, precision guidance kits and a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Start to finish ownership of power electronics/electrical power systems – design, iterative prototype, validation, and production release.
• Circuit Design (component sizing/selection, worst case analysis, simulations, schematic capture) BOM generation, Coordination for layout design and Hardware validation.
• Collaborative work with software, thermal and manufacturing teams.
• Establish scope and framework for standardization of integration processes and common tools identification. Prepare associated documentation for company records and design reviews.

Must have skills:

• Strong hold on power supply design, power converters, analog & digital control.
• Familiar with modeling & simulation tools such as Spice, MATLAB / Simulink, PSIM.
• Familiar with usage of tools such as spectrum analyzer, power analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, electronic loads/power supplies, etc

Good to have skills:

• Familiar with Solar arrays, MPPTs, Li-ion batteries, Wiring Harness, etc.
• Familiar with PCB Design tools such as Eagle/OrCad/Altium.
• Familiar with failure mode effects and criticality analysis.
