Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an automotive engine calibration specialist in Chennai. The role focuses on meeting emission, mileage, and driveability targets across CNG/LPG/Gasoline engines, with hands-on calibration, test iterations, and involvement in DVP planning.

Ideal candidates have BE/ME and 3–4 years of experience in automotive engine development, calibration tools like INCA, and strong problem-solving skills to support homologation and performance robustness.

Qualifications

• SI engine calibration exposure.
• Experience with combustion pressure measurement and analysis.
• Proficient in problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D).

Responsibilities

• Responsible to meet emission, mileage, and driveability targets for the vehicle.
• CNG/LPG/Gasoline engine optimization including steady state performance and emission development.
• CNG/LPG/Gasoline vehicle calibration including emission development, drivability, environmental corrections, cold start and OBD.
• Emission & Performance robustness and homologation trials for engine type approval.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams for engineering target delivery.
• Analyse issues from tests and perform root cause analysis using problem-solving tools.
• Collaborate with development engineer to finalize and execute the engine DVP.
• Plan day-to-day calibration activities and maintain a project tracker.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• -Responsible to meet the emission, mileage, driveability target of vehicle
• -CNG/ LPG / Gasoline Engine Optimization involving activities like, steady state performance and emission development
• -CNG/ LPG / Gasoline Vehicle calibration involving, vehicle emission development, vehicle calibration, drivability, environmental corrections, cold start and OBD
• -Emission & Performance Robustness and homologation trials for engines type approval.
• -Liason with CFT like Vehicle Integration, NVH, Electricals, Performance simulation, Engine development centre, Reliability and Service for engineering targets delivery.
• -Analyse the issues arising out of test to confirm the design by root cause analysis of the problems / issues by using various problem solving techniques like Global 8D or other problem solving tools.
• -To work with development engineer to finalise and execute the engine DVP.
• -Plan for the day-today calibration activities and maintain a project tracker.
