Job summary

Vibracoustic in Morinda, India seeks an Engineer or Sr. Engineer Tool Designer to independently develop, calculate, and design vulcanization molds/tools and fixtures for vulcanization machines and assembly lines.

You will design cost-effective components and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Europe and the Americas to ensure process capability. The role requires NX Unigraphics expertise, familiarity with rubber injection molding processes, and experience with Teamcenter, along with

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge of tool design, NX Unigraphics is a must.
• Experience in tool design in rubber/plastic industry is desired.
• Knowledge of rubber injection molding processes.
• Experience with Teamcenter is desired.
• GD&T basics.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Sound communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design vulcanization molds/tools and devices for rubber to metal parts.
• Design new tool concepts and contribute to new production concepts.
• Coordinate with design to ensure process capability.
• Participate in calculation meetings for non-standard projects.
• Design cost-effective tool components considering production processes, suppliers, and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Europe and the Americas.
• Adapt to tight timelines and frequent priority changes.
• Oversee external engineering offices and tooling constructors.

Job objective
Independent development, calculation and design of vulcanization molds/ tools, fixtures for vulcanization machines and assembly machines.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks (approx. 5)

• Design of Vulcanization molds/ tools and devices for rubber to metal parts.
• Design of new tool concepts and cooperation in development of new production concepts.
• Cooperation during part design to ensure process capability.
• Participation in calculation meetings, especially regarding non-standard projects.
• Design of cost-effective tool components under consideration of modern production processes, suppliers and available standards.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with Cross Functional Teams across Europe and Americas.
• Ability to work successfully sometimes with tight timelines and frequent changes in priorities.

Additional Responsibilities / Tasks (approx. 3)

• Placing and monitoring of design tasks performed by external engineering offices and tool manufacturers.
• Cooperation and extension of design guidelines. Support of internal Projects, APQP, etc.

Requirements
