Job summary

JobItUs in Vapi, India, is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer with 7–9 years of experience to design and develop mechanical assemblies for simulator systems using SolidWorks, create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will ensure manufacturability with GD&T, support prototype fabrication and testing, prepare design documentation, and help create digital twins and simulation structures while complying with defence standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7-9 years of relevant design experience.
• Experience in defence manufacturing or simulator development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical assemblies for simulator systems using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs in accordance with engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Prototype, Electronics, and QA — to ensure seamless integration of design with system functionality.
• Conduct tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and material selection to ensure manufacturability and structural integrity.
• Support prototype fabrication, monitor assembly processes, and resolve design issues during testing and trials.
• Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, change notes, and revision updates.
• Work on the creation of digital twins, mock-ups, and simulation structures for product validation.
• Participate in design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback from R&D and production.
• Ensure designs comply with defence manufacturing and quality standards.

  Design and develop mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and fixtures for simulator systems using SolidWorks

  
  and other CAD tools.
  


• Create and manage 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs in accordance with engineering standards.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Prototype, Electronics, and QA — to ensure seamless integration of design with system functionality.


• Conduct tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and material selection to ensure manufacturability and structural integrity.


• Support prototype fabrication, monitor assembly processes, and resolve design issues during testing and trials.

• Familiarity with prototype development and product life cycle management.
