Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced Ergonomics Engineer to benchmark exterior and interior vehicle dimensions and ensure occupant comfort and ergonomic conformance across design stages. You will collect data, run simulations, and coordinate with styling and design teams to finalize seating layouts and baseline vehicle layout hard points.

Requirements include BE/B.Tech and 4–6 years of hands-on automotive ergonomics experience.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech required.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in automotive ergonomics.
• Experience with ergonomic data collection and layout signoff.
• Knowledge of SAE J1100 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark data collection for Exterior and Interior vehicle dimensions per SAE J1100.
• Benchmarking for Occupant protection and Side Impact dimensions.
• Release VOPL layout monthly for design teams to refer.
• Liaison with styling for ergonomics signoff and baseline style in vehicle layout for resp system to refer to.
• Finalization and tracking of overall vehicle and passenger compartment hard points.
• Prepare seating buck for internal/external Jury Evaluation.
• Collate benchmark data for ergonomic simulation and design reviews.
• Conduct ergonomics simulations for occupant comfort and controls.
• Prepare project-specific jury evaluation questionnaire.
• Administer the ergonomics questionnaire to jury members for feedback and report presentation.

Job description

• Benchmark data collection for Exterior and Interior vehicle dimensions as per SAE J1100 in Standard template
• Benchmarking for Occupant protection and Side Impact dimensions
• Collect lessons learnt from other projects on overall vehicle and passenger compartment and ensure implementation
• Release VOPL layout every month for design teams to refer
• Liaison with styling for exterior and interior ergonomics signoff and base line style in vehicle layout for resp system to refer to.
• Overall vehicle and passenger compartment hard point finalization and tracking
• Driver Controls layout and monitoring conformance of controls for ergonomic reqt s with Ergonomics team
• Preparation of Seating Buck for internal/external Jury Evaluation
• Collate benchmark data for ergonomic simulation and design reviews.
• Support Passenger compartment layout person for availability of ergonomics requirements i.e. Manikins (2 D/ 3 D)
• Conduct Ergonomics simulations for occupantÂs comfort, controls and release reports.
• Support Vehicle level VOPL release by checking occupant related aspect
• Support Passenger compartment layout person for occupant related design review and presentations
• Preparation of project specific jury evaluation questionnaire.
• Administer the ergonomics Questionnaire to jury members for feedback on seating buck, compile and present report to project team.
