Job summary

Motherson Technology Services Limited (MTSL) is seeking a Results-driven Injection Mold Maintenance Professional to oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection molds. The role focuses on monitoring MTTR, MSBF, and downtime trends, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to enhance mold reliability and production uptime.

You will coordinate with production and quality teams, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain thorough maintenance

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection molds to ensure smooth operations.
• Analyze mold downtime and MTTR/MSBF to improve reliability and availability.
• Prepare RCA reports for major mold breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Update MIS reports, mold maintenance records, and downtime documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares availability to avoid stoppages.
• Perform daily mold maintenance on injection molding machines as scheduled.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve mold issues.

What you'll do

• Responsible for the preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection molds to ensure smooth production operations and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and analyze MTTR and MSBF performance to improve mold reliability, reduce breakdown frequency, and increase mold availability.
• Track critical mold downtime trends and implement corrective actions to minimize production losses and improve equipment efficiency.
• Prepare root cause analysis (RCA) reports for major mold breakdowns and develop effective corrective and preventive action plans.
• Validate the effectiveness of maintenance activities and corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of breakdowns.
• Ensure timely preparation and updating of MIS reports, mold maintenance records, downtime reports, and action plans.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate the availability of critical spares to prevent production stoppages due to material unavailability.
• Perform daily mold maintenance on injection molding machines as per the defined schedule and update maintenance checklists and documentation.
• Carry out mold repair, rework, modification, and component manufacturing activities using conventional machines such as lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines, as applicable.
• Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to improve mold life, productivity, quality, and maintenance efficiency.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and other maintenance teams to resolve mold-related issues and ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and 5S practices in the maintenance work area.
• Maintain positive employee relations and promote teamwork, discipline, and a safe working environment.
• Identify recurring mold failures and implement long-term solutions to improve mold performance and reduce maintenance costs.

Skilled in mold performance monitoring, MTTR and MSBF analysis, critical mold downtime reduction, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action planning. Experienced in spare parts management, MIS reporting, daily mold maintenance, and maintenance documentation to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production. Knowledgeable in conventional machining operations and Kaizen activities to improve mold reliability, productivity, and product quality.
