Job summary

OpsTree Global in Navi Mumbai seeks an experienced infrastructure and platform operations engineer. You will run a large hybrid server estate, manage middleware, and own CI/CD pipelines with Ansible playbooks for repeatable deployments.

You will operate real-time data pipelines, monitor systems with Grafana and ELK, and participate in on-call incident management across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT is mandatory.
• Masters or certifications (Azure DevOps, RHCE/Ansible, GCloud) preferred.
• Experience managing Linux and Windows Server fleets in HA setups.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a large hybrid server estate across on-prem, private cloud and GCP.
• Administer Linux and Windows Server fleets including GPU servers for cloud gaming.
• Manage core middleware: MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka.
• Coordinate infra resources with internal teams for VMs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls.
• Plan OS upgrades, patches and lifecycle activities with platform partners.
• Own Azure DevOps pipelines for releases and infra changes.
• Develop Ansible playbooks for deployments and provisioning.
• Define environment promotion steps and rollback procedures with app teams.
• Execute high-risk changes in pairs per change-management runbooks.
• Maintain Git/Azure DevOps Repos for pipelines and scripts.
• Operate real-time analytics pipeline (HiveMQ -> Kafka -> PySpark -> MySQL).
• Run scheduled Python ETL jobs ingesting data from BigQuery, SFTP and dumps.
• Manage BigQuery service accounts, SFTP intake and BI reporting readiness.
• Maintain dashboards with Grafana, ELK/Kibana and Sentry for ops and data jobs.
• Configure alerting, on-call runbooks and MTTR reduction strategies.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and RCA investigations.
• Diagnose multi-layer issues across network, app, DB and infra layers.
• Coordinate hardware fault resolution with OEMs and track closures.
• Write runbooks and keep inventory and knowledge-base up to date.

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Platform Operations

• Operate and maintain a large hybrid server estate across production, replica, SIT and development environments, spanning on-premise data centres, Private cloud (OpenStack-based) and GCP.
• Administer Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) and Windows Server fleets, including GPU-based servers used for cloud game streaming.
• Manage core platform middleware in high-availability setups — MySQL, Redis and RabbitMQ (master/slave), MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Kafka.
• Request and manage infrastructure resources with internal cloud, network and data-centre teams — VMs, load balancers, proxies, firewall rules, ports and DNS.
• Plan and execute OS upgrades, patching and lifecycle activities in coordination with platform partners.

CI/CD, Deployment & Configuration Management

• Own and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for platform releases and infrastructure changes across all environments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for deployments, configuration management and consistent, repeatable environment provisioning.
• Define environment promotion steps (DEV → SIT → PROD), release approvals and rollback procedures together with application teams and partners.
• Execute high-risk changes and deployments in pairs, following the change-management process and documented runbooks.
• Maintain source control and repositories (Git / Azure DevOps Repos) for pipelines, playbooks and operational scripts.

Data Pipeline Operations

• Operate the real-time analytics pipeline — device events over MQTT (HiveMQ) into Kafka, processed by PySpark streaming into a unified MySQL database.
• Run and support scheduled Python ETL jobs that ingest partner data from BigQuery, SFTP and database dumps.
• Manage BigQuery service accounts, SFTP intake and job-failure alerting; ensure re-runs are safe and data reaches the Power BI reporting layer on time.

Monitoring, Observability & Alerting

• Maintain dashboards and alerting using Grafana, ELK Stack/Kibana and Sentry across infrastructure, applications and data jobs.
• Configure alert thresholds, escalation paths and on-call runbooks to minimise MTTR.
• Track capacity and resource trends and flag risks ahead of game launches and traffic peaks.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and act as an escalation point for P1/P2 production incidents — rapid triage, root-cause analysis (RCA) and resolution.
• Diagnose multi-layered issues spanning network, application (Python/Django/Celery, Node.js, PHP), database and infrastructure layers under time pressure.
• Coordinate hardware fault resolution with OEM vendors — support cases, AMC and part replacements (RMA) — and track them to closure.
• Conduct structured post-incident reviews and implement corrective/preventive actions to eliminate recurring incidents.
• Collaborate with application teams and partners during release rollouts to diagnose smoke-test failures and roll back when necessary.

Security & Compliance

• Coordinate closure of VA, BA and MA security assessment findings with infrastructure teams and platform partners — track deadlines, arrange access and collect closure evidence.
• Raise and manage security exceptions for findings that cannot be closed due to platform limitations.
• Ensure all infrastructure changes go through the defined InfoSec review process (Architecture/Network Security and App Security assessments) within the agreed TAT.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificate issuance and renewal across platforms, ensuring no expiries in production.
• Support privileged access management, asset compliance and endpoint security tooling (e.g., Wazuh) across the server estate.

Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

• Act as the single point of contact between internal teams (data centre, network, private and public cloud, InfoSec, certificate and OS operations) and external partners (cloud gaming platform vendors, application teams and hardware OEMs).
• Raise and follow up service, change, firewall and security-review requests through internal ticketing workflows until closure.
• Travel to IDC / data-centre locations across India as required for vendor support, hardware installation and infrastructure bring-up.

Automation & Documentation

• Identify and eliminate toil through automation using Python, Shell and Ansible — provisioning, deployment validation, health checks and log analysis.
• Write and maintain runbooks for all operational procedures so any team member can execute them, reducing key-person dependency.
• Keep infrastructure inventory (servers, IPs, FQDNs) and knowledge-base articles current.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline — mandatory.
• Master's degree (M.Tech/MCA) or relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Red Hat RHCE / Ansible, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer, or equivalent) — preferred.
