Job summary

Veena World is seeking an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer to design, deploy and manage AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and container workloads. You will work on Windows IIS and Linux servers, implement automation, and ensure secure, scalable environments across Dev to Production.

You will lead incident response, monitoring, and on-call rotations while collaborating with development, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Cloud / Infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, ELB/ALB, Auto Scaling, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudFront).
• Experience with Windows Server and IIS, and Linux with Nginx/Apache.
• Proficient with Git and Git workflows; GitHub Actions experience preferred.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).
• IBC as Code with CloudFormation and Terraform; scripting in Bash/PowerShell/Python.
• Networking basics, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS; monitoring/logging tools.
• Secrets management, DBs (MongoDB/MySQL/SQL Server), DevSecOps practices.
• Security, HA/DR design and AWS Well-Architected familiarity; Agile/Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, networking, storage, security groups).
• Deploy, host and maintain applications on Windows IIS as well as Linux servers.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling) with rollback plans.
• Manage Git repos, branching, access controls and release processes.
• Build infrastructure with IaC across Dev/QA/UAT/Production environments.
• Containerise apps and manage workloads on ECS/EKS.
• Monitor system health, performance, uptime and logs; create dashboards and alerts.
• Define and track SLAs/SLOs for uptime and performance.
• Lead incident response, RCA reports and preventive measures.
• Follow security best practices, patching, IAM, secrets management and access reviews.
• Integrate security checks in pipelines; backups, DR and BC planning.
• Capacity planning and auto-scaling for peak traffic; cloud cost optimization.
• Collaborate with developers, QA and product teams for reliable releases.

Job description

Eligibility :

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field


• 4 - 6 Yrs of hands-on experience in DevOps / Cloud / Infrastructure roles


• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, especially EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, ELB/ALB, Auto Scaling, Route 53, CloudWatch and CloudFront


• Solid experience running Windows Server and hosting and configuring applications on IIS (application pools, bindings, SSL certificates, URL rewrite)


• Good knowledge of Linux administration and web servers such as Nginx / Apache


• Proficient with Git, branching strategies (GitFlow / trunk-based) and pull-request workflows


• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions


• Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Amazon ECS / EKS)


• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation


• Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell and/or Python


• Solid understanding of networking basics: DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, SSL/TLS, firewalls and VPNs


• Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / OpenSearch or New Relic / Datadog


• Experience managing secrets and credentials using AWS Secrets Manager, Parameter Store or HashiCorp Vault


• Working knowledge of databases (MongoDB, MySQL / SQL Server), including backups, restores and replication


• Understanding of security best practices (DevSecOps), including vulnerability scanning, least-privilege access and OS hardening


• Familiarity with high availability, scalability and disaster recovery design, following the AWS Well-Architected Framework


• Experience deploying Node.js / Angular (MEAN stack) applications will be an added advantage


• Exposure to CDN/WAF platforms like Cloudflare or Akamai will be an added advantage


• An AWS certification (SysOps Administrator / DevOps Engineer / Solutions Architect) will be an added advantage


• Experience in a travel, e-commerce or high-traffic consumer platform will be an added advantage


• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and DevSecOps practices would be an added advantage.


• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum and issue trackers such as Jira / YouTrack


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to take part in an on-call rotation for production support

• Set up and regularly test backups, disaster recovery and business continuity plans


• Plan capacity and auto-scaling for peak traffic periods such as sales and holiday seasons


• Track and reduce cloud costs through right-sizing, Reserved Instances / Savings Plans and removing unused resources


• Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and automation tools


• Manage DNS, CDN, WAF and SSL configurations for public-facing websites and APIs


• Work closely with developers, QA and product teams to make releases smooth and reliable


• Keep clear documentation of infrastructure, architecture diagrams, deployment processes and runbooks


• Support audits and compliance requirements (e.g. PCI-DSS for payments, data protection) where applicable


• Mentor developers on DevOps practices and help build a culture of automation and ownership
