Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an experienced electrical engineering professional to support the design of substations and electrical equipment for complex projects. Responsibilities include FEED, EO&I scope identification, and detailed engineering across mechanical, civil, and electrical interfaces.

Candidate will develop design specifications, prepare BOQs, and coordinate with suppliers and clients through tender and project execution phases, ensuring compliance with IS and international standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in FEED for plant electrics and electrical substation design.
• Knowledge of electrical design standards and IS/International codes.
• Ability to coordinate across mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Starting from proposal work in Technical & Commercial aspects.
• Prepare complete design for electrical equipment’s substation (MCC).
• Conduct detail study & analysis of material handling project specs (M,E,C,I) for basic & detail engineering.
• Identify and segregate E&I scope of work in design, erection & commissioning phases.
• Develop detail work breakdown structures with start and end dates, coordinating with Mechanical, civil & utility departments.
• Prepare drive list, transformer sizing, load calculations, and short-circuit calculations.
• BOQ preparation based on tender NIT for E&I budget.
• Expertise in FEED for plant electrics and knowledge of EDP.
• Prepare electrical specifications (HT/LT switchgear, PCC/PDB, transformers, battery chargers, etc.).
• Prepare single-line diagrams for overall plant electrics; plan power cabling, schedules, routing & layouts.
• Calculate lighting, earthing, lightning design; battery sizing & capacitor sizing.
• Know hazardous area classifications; conduction of heat load calculations.
• Follow IS codes and international standards; supervise erection, commissioning & handover.
• Coordinate with suppliers and clients on package clarifications and finalizations.
