Job summary

Bristlecone India Limited is seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant for its S/4 HANA Technical - Delivery team in Pune, India. You will lead end-to-end ABAP development, implement enhancements, and integrate SAP modules, while mentoring junior developers and supporting S/4HANA transformation initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years of ABAP experience, strong ABAP OO and SAP NetWeaver skills, and hands-on work with BAPI/IDoc/ALE/OData. Collaboration with functional consultants is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong expertise in ABAP OO, classic ABAP, and SAP NetWeaver architecture.
• Proven experience with S/4HANA technical landscape and migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with BAPI, IDoc, ALE, and OData integrations.
• Demonstrated ability in performance tuning and debugging complex ABAP code.
• Familiarity with SAP enhancement techniques (user-exits, BADIs, BTEs).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• SAP certification (e.g., ABAP Development) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, BAPIs, enhancements, forms) in line with business requirements.
• Implement functional and technical enhancements across SAP modules.
• Integrate SAP solutions using IDocs, ALE, BAPI, and OData services.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks in ABAP code.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Support S/4HANA migration activities, including custom code adaptation and testing.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs and database accesses.
• Document technical designs, configurations, and deployment procedures.l>
• Mentor and guide junior ABAP developers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
