Job summary

Vanguard India seeks an experienced Application Engineer to join a new team building backend services, APIs, and cloud-based applications. You will own end-to-end backend development using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS-based microservices, with a strong focus on API security and observability.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a CS/IT degree, and hands-on work with OAuth/Okta/JWT, TDD/BDD, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in application or backend systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or BCA.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Python basics.
• Expertise with AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, ECS).
• Familiarity with Splunk, Honeycomb, CloudWatch for observability.
• Solid API security knowledge (OAuth, Okta, JWTs).
• Experience with TDD/BDD and test automation (Cucumber).
• Experience with Java 17, Python 3.9+, Spring Boot 3.0+.

Role Summary

We are looking for Application Engineers to join the team, which builds solutions across personal, digital, and institutional advisory platforms. This is a core development role within a new team, focused on building backend services, APIs, and cloud-based applications from the ground up.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Python, Spring Boot, AWS services, API security, and backend development. Exposure to test automation, observability tools, and Agile ways of working will be an added advantage. This role offers strong end‑to‑end ownership, hands‑on engineering exposure, and the opportunity to work on modern cloud and AI‑enabled technologies.

Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring boot,Python Basics
• Excellence in AWS - Lambda, step functions, Dynamo DB, S3, ECS .
• Working knowledge of Splunk, Honeycomb, Cloud watch
• Good understanding in API – security - OAUTH/OKTA jwts
• Proficiency in TDD / BDD- Test Automation Skills (Cucumber).
• Experience in Version: Java 17; Python 3.9+; Spring Boot 3.0 +
